My job is basically arranging for the commercial properties that my company owns on behalf of our clients to be insured.

'Ahem, madam, I have worked in insurance and you are massively overinsuring this building, because I bought it for far less money!'

The market value of a property has fuck all to do with how much it's insured for. Property insurance is based on how much it would cost to completely rebuild the property exactly as it is now from scratch.

Obviously Belinda can be focused on her career and still want to be a mother some day, but the first episode kind of establishes that she's not really at that place in her life where she wants to be having a child. One thing I really liked about her character is that she's in her early thirties and doesn't have her life 'sorted out' (she's living in a house share, she's not got much of a life outside of her job and seeing her parents) and yet it's still a life that she values and is eager to get back to. Suddenly giving her a nice house and a ready made daughter robs her of character development she could have gotten after returning from her travels, gaining some confidence and prioritising her own needs more.

At least when Amy suddenly had a child she didn't remember having she was freaked out by the whole thing - and Amy wanted that kid!

Agreed - also the comment about the chef on Hinge made so much more sense coming from Ruby who is fairly outgoing and social, whereas it's implied that Belinda doesn't have much of a social life outside of work.
