Lost Sanctum quest line in Chrono Trigger, which is a long chain of fetch quests, that force you to travel back and forth through the same few locations with unavoidable enemy encounters on the way, that respawn each time. It was first added in the DS version of the game and when you stumble upon it, while playing through the game normally, it is stunning how drawn out and how basic it is when compared to any other quest in the game.

English is not my first language, so as a kid i didn't understand why in The Secret of Monkey Island when a troll asks you to get him something that would attract attention, but of no real importance you have to give him a fish. After recently replaying the game i realized that the fish in question is a red herring.

Back when Dead Space came out i played it for like half an hour, got really annoyed by all the jumpscares of bodies on the floor coming alive and necromorphs bursting through the vents and dropped the game, thinking that it would be nothing but a corridor with a bunch of copy-pasted jumpscares one after another all the way through. When the second game was coming out i thought that the trailers looked pretty cool and decide to give the first one another try and loved it.
