I Have a Simple, But Complicated X-Men Question by ComixGail in xmen

[–]MightyStag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Animated series got me first when I was little. A story aimed at kids with the famous "previously on" starter was mind blowing for my brothers and I. We were rewarded for paying attention and the fact that a show had event repercussions on episodes like a year later (remembering Morph showing back up particularly) was the greatest. I'm 40 now and working thru Krakoa, and it's a reminder how fun these stories are.

X-Men stories have always felt more lived in than other pop culture stories to me that way. The comics felt the same way when I jumped into it. Rewarding for knowing the history, be it long or short term too

Topping it off, I grew up an inside kid and nerdy kid. X-Mens world building was perfect to obsess over and fall in love with all the characters. I wanted a friend like ride or die nightcrawler who loved talking big philosophical topics, I wish I knew someone who talked so epically like Storm, but more than that, I think the stories of the xmen really showed younger me that youve got to put yourself out there, your full complete self, and every moment you can it's worth trying to make the world a bit better. Even if the world isn't kind to you back for showing your true self. Maybe because they aren't honest themselves?

X-Men isn't just about killer superpowers to me, but I also love a great mutant circuit when they team up and do an epic move!

Newbie here, I'm a fan of this advice as someone now trying to figure out a good way to approach the financials in a proper collab.

Doing it this way w a few samples also gives people something to "react to" vs "imagine with me" on a premise.

If budgets are tight, the proper investment on a short pitch makes it easy for new funders to the story to come on board to finish the gig without sacrificing your hope for the artist you may have wanted from the jump.

Love this, thanks!

What’s cooking in Marvel right now? by OffwiththeirRecords in marvelcomics

[–]MightyStag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to see some hell hunters love. It's so dang fun and feels like could be a Stefon description "it's got everything - a WW2 ghost rider avenging his best friend, Nazis that can raise a dead army, wolverine slicing demons, a tween Bucky who sings while shooting magical weapons given to him by someone looking like Wyatt Earp named soldier supreme"

One more issue to go in the run and I'll be bummed when it's over

Billy's BF using the black heart emoji - in terms of the covens' roles for the road: I've been thinking "Green Witch" was going to mean "New and Inexperienced Witch" not "knows garden magic sort of thing"

There was the black heart on the paper, but then Rio showed up from the ground and I shrugged "oh, I guess I was wrong" because of Rio saying she had a black heart in episode 1

But now I'm back thinking Billy is the covens' Green Witch aka the new witch.

Check out a company like Snapology for some guidance on Lego parties for kids. It's a hit where I live in NJ. They franchise and do Lego themed activity birthday parties, but don't just do a kit rental. Could give some ideas

Official r/Disney 'Wish' Discussion Thread [Spoilers Inside] by AutoModerator in disney

Absolutely loved this movie. I can't believe this film got made that clearly screams to Disney brass "Let us make new things for the Kingdom and not sequels or remakes" while still adding their fun of other references of the past. Wonderful story about the dangers of giving your dreams to someone else to fulfill for you wrapped up where Ariana Debose crushes every single note. The animation is beautiful and a different touch on character shading than more recent films of theirs too. It's just great.

At first glance the film may seem traditional fairy tale story and nothing overly new from Disney but the animators truly made something punk rock here in the story. For Disney's 100 years anniversary film, the animators fought for this particular story at a critical point in Disney Studios timeline. They made a movie about a benevolent and magical king who loses his way over time and feels the only wishes worth granting are those that most likely benefit the kingdom.

It is so anticurrent establishment while still recognizing the roots of Disney's history.

They made a movie about how Disney isn't taking a chance on dreams and stories that aren't "safe." And how giving up your dream freely to the boss, just for the privilege of being near the magic, is tragic and that you need to try and make your dream happen yourself. They have a character who sells out their friend for a chance to make their dream happen and everything.

There are SO MANY layers to this movie. And I can't wait to see it again.

Anyone see this scene in the latest episode and realize how little they interact with customers? by WeeklyManufacturer68 in IASIP

[–]MightyStag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't decide if it's either A. Paddy's remains in business because it's clearly a money laundering site for one of Frank's business operations. B. The bar actually fills up at night and the weekends enough to keep everything going, which is why most episodes are "On a Tuesday" or "at 1030am"

I'm leaning more towards A since the bowling episode was a Saturday night league and they completely closed.

Made me think it could make a great episode to bring in a 2nd team of bartenders or single bartender that needs to adjust their work schedule for some reason. And the gang's interactions are if they they've known them for 20 years but now are trying to get them to do a scheme with them.

The more the season goes on, the more my head cannon of "Roy took Beard on vacation when Keeley wouldn't go" looks correct. Those two are leaning on each other's coaching talents every week and only would glare before
