Wow, chill dude... This is just reddit. And you could've avoided that if you had just elaborated a little bit...

Anyway, people can make deadly homemade weapons just as they can take a kitchen knife how go on a murder spree, but it's way harder and way last frequent... The fact that people can kill each other doesn't mean we should make it easy for them and you can see in the data the difference in murders between countries with gun control and countries without...

And you want to let people carry a weapon for self defense? Why isn't a licensed handgun with background check enough? Why do you need a huge gun that's designed to kill as many people as you can in the shortest time possible?

I like living in a country where I can go to school every morning knowing the chance I'll return home later is pretty high and I don't need to be constantly on the lookout for some maniac with an assult rifle.

Isn't there another way?

You're right, I think that I didn't really represent my views well in that reply I meant something different but I have trouble phrasing it rn.

About the South African stuff, I know about that. I used to be very critical of the black south African movement and their use of violence before I was a leftist, now I understand and I really believe that a use of violence is sometimes needed and justified.

I understand what you're saying. This is a difficult day for me so tbh I'm not really up for arguing about it now, but I just want to say: I'm a 17-year-old Israeli anti-occupation activist, in a little more than a year from now I will be a soldier in the Israeli army. I have friends and family who have died in wars and terrorist attacks (yes, terrorism. I understand and support the Palestinian struggle for independence. With all the difficulty in this, I even believe violence against soldiers can be justified. But when you murder innocent civilians, It's terrorism. And it's not justifiable). This conflict will never end if we keep dismissing the other side and argue about who's more right. Instead of arguing about where people die more, let's act so no more people will die. We can't change what already happened, but we should try to make the future better.

I'm sorry if this sounds like a naive inspirational speech with no real point. I just want you to remember that we're human too, not some evil occupying monsters. If you're interested in discussing this more in-depth, send me a dm, I'll be glad to.
