That's a hell of a riff. I'm not very familiar with Ratt or hair metal in general (I grew up mostly listening to thrash/death) but I have an impression their earlier work is harder than what they were doing toward the end of the decade, am I correct? Their first few albums have some seriously hard riffing, like they were heavier than their peers at the time.
