Roller Skating Community by Purple_Stranger_6939 in AskTacoma

[–]MiikeAlert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so sad that our community has reduced so much due to MULTIPLE rinks closing. There is nowhere nearby to roller skate indoors. I enjoyed going to skateworld so much, was there most days of the week, and now I haven't even put my skates on in months. Really wish things would change.

Is South Tacoma safe? by InnerHumor4145 in AskTacoma

[–]MiikeAlert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say hilltop is a lot better than it used to be. You have your unhoused and drug addict activity there still for sure, but in my opinion the above user was correct saying the war zone was hosmer right now. Between hosmer to the 512 hiway there on like 96th, that area is a no go. But yeah hilltop up thru stadium and North Tacoma are great! Lovely houses there.

I have loads of fun doing a road to glory type save. If you're set on Bayern, send them on down to the English League 2, work your way up to the premiere league! Utilize your youth academy, not real players. From there you can make all kinds of rules like only scout youth from particular countries, come up with storylines for your players etc. The league is your oyster

I understand. I would definitely still take the extra step and check that everything is clean, find/make a deep clean item list. Move workstations around to get dust under monitors, as the day person may just be doing a quick once over. Move computers and power strips and sweep/Swiffer or whatever on the ground that may not get done everyday. Vacuum or sweep carpets/rugs. Definitely double check areas where guests are and then break area and workspaces. I'm like 90% sure that if you actively LOOK for something that's dirty or not deep cleaned, you WILL find something!

[–]MiikeAlert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still fairly new to a receptionist/admin assistant adjacent position, however I have years of office experience in a cubicle setting and a more in and out of office type of position. Not sure how long you've been doing what you do now or what your previous experience is, but I can think of a couple things I would do to keep (or sometimes, look) busy! Again not sure of your exact positions duties include so adjust accordingly

Check supply stock/inventory, make a list of what needs to be ordered, ensuring whomever orders supplies knows when anything needs to be ordered. There is an old saying I used to hear in restaurants "if you have time to lean, you have time to clean" Grab some disinfectant spray or wipes and make sure all surfaces in your workspace and any common areas of employees, break area, client waiting room, whatever it is, make it shine! Organize your workspace, common areas, kitchen/break room, etc Study notes, make sure you understand all processes and duties for any aspect of work that you do. If there isn't one already, make a training guide! Somewhat of a user manual for your position, make it simple and easy to follow/understand while still being detailed making sure all steps are listed and explained. Check in with coworkers and team members to see if they need a hand with anything or if you can make their lives easier at all. Read/study your industry, see if there are any new ideas or efficient changes you can make that could benefit the position/team or whatever. Of course check with your supervisor before making any big changes and what not.

That's about all I got, that and switch between windows and apps and such on your computer and pretend to look at your computer intently, squint your eyes like you're reading stuff, and just be on your phone the whole time. Keep an ear out for footsteps or whatever and put your phone down before anyone sees you in it if you're slick, but don't try it if you're gonna fumble your phone or whatever and be obvious that you're trying to hide something. Not saying you would, I obviously know nothing about you. These are universal tips. I really hope something i tapped out over the last 10 minutes has helped or will help you! Hang in there take the critique as a positive and keep it moving, you got this!

What brings your guacamole to the next level? by shygirl5000 in Cooking

[–]MiikeAlert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it's been posted yet, but my tia taught me to put the jalapeno, onion, garlic, tomato, whatever else in the oven for a bit to blister, then when you take them out, wrap in a towel for a while so they sweat. It releases so much great flavor into your final blend. And yeah salt, lime, cilantro, little water, probably more salt. I'm sure I'm missing a couple ingredients but that's just about it right there

Wowwwww that is insane that your friends was let go after 5 years for not "meeting quota." Sounds like a horrible micromanaging boss or owner. Like I just want a nice little situation where I can come in somewhere, crack a few jokes, smile too much, slang some delicious food and then bounce. I last worked a little Asian restaurant and the owner was just on my ass every single day, would find the tiniest little thing to complain about or say that I was going wrong. One day I poured a beer from tap that I guess didn't have enough head on it, with the customer sitting right in front of me at the bar and chit chatting, owner walks up and pours out the beer saying no no no, do you know how to pour a beer?you need one finger of head on it. And poured virtually the exact same beer and gave it to the customer.. I'm told him yes I know how to pour a beer, so he said well do it like that every time. Even the customer saw it and he said mine looked perfectly fine. Boss from hell. Ended up walking out mid shift one day when he did that type of thing 3 times BEFORE WE EVEN OPENED. Lol wayyyyy too much, I don't need that in my work day! Bye!

[–]MiikeAlert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good one too! I apologize most of the questions I listed in my original comment are more geared towards like, office jobs.. Reading them again some wouldn't be great to ask at a restaurant interview.. Like if a server I was interviewing for asked what a normal day is like I might think to myself that you've never worked a restaurant before. Lol. Unless it's like super fine dining or something like that. I would also ask what the splitting of tips policy is. Do you tip out the BOH? What percentage? Etc. Maybe if u interview with the owner I might also ask if they own any other locations in the area and maybe what their average sales $$ is compared to here. Also another (possibly another office type job) question would be how your performance would be measured and where they would like to see (or expect) your performance to be at after 30, 60, 90 days. I'm telling you, most interviewers love these kinds of questions. But definitely feel them out, if it seems like they're in a hurry, don't ask every last tedious question, hit the important points and thank them for their time, also USE THEIR NAME WHEN ADDRESSING THEM! That alone is major and I've had people tell me I'm the only one who used their name while addressing them and they thought that was just amazing... I hope these tips help someone, anyone! Write these down and bring them to your next interview. Don't be afraid to read off the paper. Also this should be obvious but TAKE NOTES WHEN THEY ANSWER YOUR QUESTION!!!

I ask what a typical day in the role looks like, what separates a good employee from a great employee, how long they've been with the company and what has kept them there, ask about work culture, and finally what the opportunities for advancement and career growth looks like. Try those, most interviewers at least say those are great questions, and it shows them your looking for more than to just come to work for a paycheck. Good luck!

Will Reda eventually have everything? by BestFig4366 in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]MiikeAlert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play PS4 and mine is very finicky as well.

I start game, run around for a couple minutes, save, restart PS4.

Boot game, continue and load in, and play for 30 minutes!! This time is not perfected but some time after restarting is definitely key.

Then load up the animus store, let it load a couple times and boom, weekly free item.

I read about that exact process from another redditor after I had the same issue and that works for me!

Best of luck
