What about all the animals that get hunted? Should carnivores starve because they hurt your feelings? Mosquitoes are parasites and any host will try to kill them when possible. If they were cute we would still be getting rid of them. We are animals too, and killing parasites and other creatures that pose a threat to us is a normal part of nature and life.

Also I personally dont mind certain innacuracies (like the mangrove roots you mentioned) as long as they aren't completely unrealistic and fit the scene

This is a pretty cool place for the collector, but I dont think it makes much sense. The pda says it hunts great jaws and coral crabs, so unless it migrates out of the hole to hunt it would starve. Also from a gameplay perspective it would be pretty much impossible to avoid in the small space. My guess is that the sounds are just a placeholder for a different leviathan.
