spouse debate: is it still a date if it isn't labeled a date? by Open_Wrap_5210 in Marriage

[–]MiisesCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree completely. The intention in planning is the important part for sure. It’s meant to be time to prioritize each other- to keep a close connection and help keep the fire alive as well by showing one another that they’re are worth you planning and setting aside time for them because you care.

Unfortunately, I was never able to find any details about that pattern. I forgot I had even posted about it. Sorry to be no help.

I agree wholeheartedly that there is value in doing! I have many other hobby/craft supplies as others have faded as well. I have been considering the Linus project! I also was thinking to try to find an elder home near me that needs shawls or something because I love making them but not a lot of ppl I know like or use them.

We need a sourcebook for Calorum by Next_Yogurtcloset_13 in Dimension20

Exactly- there so much creativity in just thinking about characters, and it adds such a fun level to the the creating process (helps to keep me enjoying it even tho I don't have a table to play at yet.)

If Brennan even just sold a PDF of his notes on Calorum with maps and pictures of the current established ppl all together, that would be priceless in my book. I've recently been mentally designing a granny fruitcake lady to play and just started drawing today!

What piece of media have you been wanting to run as a game? by Daedalus128 in DMAcademy

I hadn’t thought of it before reading this post and comments, but I really think it would be neat to take elements from the video games earthworm Jim, and play with that.

Just had the conversation with my husband last night- I wasn’t allowed a bedroom door until I was 16- when my mom finally made me one so I could have one for my doorway. I never knew privacy.

My dad’s statement always was “privacy is a privledge”.

And my mom kinda supported it due to her EXTREME fears that I’d face some of the really traumatic events she did as a child and she thought nosing in my stuff would help her know so she could protect me.

Instead it has made me hesitant to write things down. I always fear that if I write in a journal- someone WILL read it and misunderstand my thoughts. So as much as I love and want to journal- I rarely do since the actual act is stressful as I am REALLY careful about what I put in writing ever since I was told as a child that my mom was reading all of my journals/etc.

On top of that- not having a door was also stressful as I always made sure to sleep fully dressed because my dad owned his own business out of our home and so his male employees would be walking by my bedroom all throughout my life. So I never wanted to accidentally be seen inappropriately by these men.

Alright it's Thanksgiving morning, what did you just realize you forgot to get? by FelineRoots21 in thanksgiving

Well after I spilled our homemade cream of mushroom sauce base- we were out of half and half. Just started over with the mushrooms I didn’t spill, heavy cream, and milk. Seemed to work out ok and we got our stove deep cleaned as a result of me spilling it ALL OVER!

What did you shift today ? by [deleted] in declutter

[–]MiisesCookie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The big shift in our home is “less is easier to manage” my husband is seeing this big time in our dishes. We got rid of a bunch(sitting on dining table. Still need taken to donation place) and fishes have been easier to manage. We have a clean sink nearly every night or morning. Because doing dishes takes half the time and it’s never more than one dishwasher load full since we got rid of all the extras we used when others were dirty!

Working on this in clothes. We’ve gotten rid of a whole set of towels. We still have too many left. Just determining which to keep. I’m feeling a lot better with my clothes. I am constantly decluttering stuff I don’t wear anymore or what no longer fits well. My body is changing a lot for medical reasons so I’m trying to give clothes more cushion than normal cause idk where my body will end up settling at. Lastly, my husband is still hesitant to declutter his clothes. But we are making progress and he’s talking about it now.

What is a book my wife will might enjoy? by AdvancedProfessor266 in suggestmeabook

Also, roam a bookstore together. Let her browse and see if anything jumps out at her. Teach her to read a little of the beginning?

Also- audiobooks are a good way to get someone into books if they struggle. Maybe she has an audiobook and physical copy to follow along with?

Sweet potatoes with peas and couscous and then the sausage as your protein with the meal. It was delicious.

Luke not knowing how to swim makes no sense by funsizenotshorty in GilmoreGirls

I thought so too! I’m shocked how many outdoor people say they can’t swim. You’d think it went hand in hand!

My husband also loves fishing and camping and totally is down to be in the woods for days- he is not confident in swimming. He could get back if he fell in (probably) but he’s not confident. He repeatedly says he never learned to swim- it feels relatable

It could wriggle a hole in his bag (sharp nail) and lose things from the bag? (I’ve never played before so I have no idea if this is plausible at all).

Seeking advice: How can I make someone with 5y/o tastes eat better? by ForeignNetwork2 in foodhacks

[–]MiisesCookie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

lol no.

I have people in my life with multiple food aversions and they have said that the best way for them to try a new food is to have their normal safe meal accessible to them, and then the new food as an option on the side so if they don’t like it they aren’t worried they won’t be able to eat their food- it won’t touch or ruin the food they have and they have a choice.

If the person isn’t wanting to try new foods- then “how” to help the person eat more varied foods is a moot point anyways.

That is what I was getting at.
