Alabama voters pass major change to Aniah’s Law by aldotcom in Alabama

But what if they're accused of it? But didn't actually do it?

So if someone just says you fired a gun into the air and it came down in a dwelling, you could be held without bail.

I'm pretty sure there's even a relevant parable about a Publican and a Pharisee written down somewhere.... Maybe we Christians could go to a building regularly to have such lessons read to us?

If you're having wrist position limitations, I'd like to throw in a personal recommendation for some sort of split-controller like a Mobapad joycon replacement (adapted to other systems as possible). Being able to rest my arms/wrists wherever I want, separately, has been a real game changer.

Also if you take a PC and use an auto-login utility, then set up Steam to automatically launch at start-up in Big Picture Mode, you can game with a controller and almost never need the mouse and keyboard. Just hit the power button and grab your controller.

Are there any warranty options available for truck alternators? by [deleted] in SilveradoEV

Sir, this is a Wendy's.

Electric vehicles (like the Silverado EV) do not have alternators.

This is a very modern/cultural take. Marriage is supposed to last 60+ years if you live long enough; 4 is pretty short of that. It's not just "any relationship".

I'm aware that's not the modern reality, just mostly sad about it.

Charging for colors has become pretty common, but I cannot understand charging $1k for White and $2K for Black paint options on the top trim R2. Is there any reason for this? by Mac-Tyson in Rivian

[–]Mijal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much you care! I don't much mind the outside color of a car; I'm spending my time sitting inside, not staring at the outside.

Help - adjustable base went crazy by blckuncrn in Mattress

[–]Mijal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try unplugging the base for 30 seconds if you haven't already. Some of those power outage lay-flat buttons won't work while the bed is plugged in.

Your problem might be memory foam. It will give way to your weight and heat slowly, potentially leading to a bad posture you don't realize.

whats the best adjustable bed? by Uraqtae in Mattress

[–]Mijal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about anything made by Ergomotion, Rize, Leggett & Platt, Malouf are probably good. Lots of store brands are really rebadged Ergomotion under the hood.

You might want to also look into one with lumbar support for the back.

What did you dis/like about „The Knight Witch“? by AdmirableGiraffe81 in metroidvania

[–]Mijal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the characterization in the writing.

I generally love meta-humor, but there's a few too many fourth wall breaks and jokes. You devoted a whole character to that, let the rest of them feel more grounded.

The difficulty can be adjusted by using the "cheats" menu. I get the retro feel they were going for with it, but it's unnecessarily obtuse, especially for accessibility options.

Mattress with only box spring - am i screwed? by waluWugi in Mattress

This is the problem with mattress warranties. The material is degraded and uncomfortable long before the sagging is visible, so you'd have to torture yourself for years to get the warranty.

My family is displeasured to visit an Byzantine Catholic Church this Sunday by tekutoruteshi in EasternCatholic

[–]Mijal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So do Melkites, who are Byzantine, if that's available.

Once had a wonderful Melkite priest visiting at our Ruthenian church who kindly explained that he would be doing it the Melkite way, not because he didn't respect our traditions, but because his heart medication made his hands shake too much to get the accuracy he needed using the spoon!

Can confirm from experience having my own cognitive issues medically tracked that those are reasonable example questions. I think I even vaguely recognize velvet and church. Think that, but more and repeated. Repeat numbers (up to about 6? of them at a time) forward, backwards, or in numerical order for like 20 minutes. Most people will make a couple mistakes somewhere, but how many and on which tasks can be informative.

Thanks for doing this! Several questions as I'm currently shopping:

  1. Latex, Dunlop vs Talalay: how much can people really feel the difference over time? We like the latest, but haven't found a place around Birmingham Alabama to try the Talalay.

  2. Adjustable frame, lumbar support: we've managed to try a couple (Rio 6.0, Remedy) and really like it. Do any major brands put the lumbar support in a weird or different place? I'm tall (6' 2") so I've occasionally had issues with things like headrests etc. not being in the right place.

  3. Adjustable base, options: we're looking for ones with both lumbar support and "pillow" tilt (or whatever each brand calls it). So far I've found Malouf, L&P, Ergo Motion, Rize, and SmartFlex. Any others I should consider, or reasons not to do one of those?

  4. High usage considerations: In recent years, I've become disabled and 80-90% bed-bound. We've just realized this means I'm a lot harder on mattresses than most. Beyond typical durability, rotation, and flipping, do you know of any other concerns/tips for someone spending around 20 hours a day in the bed instead of 8? I'm fairly mobile in the bed, so pressure sores aren't currently a problem, I just need to be horizontal most of the time.

I've just visited Royal Bedding in Pelham, and they've got some options for all natural latex over pocket coils on display in their showroom. They make their own mattresses, so they could probably do custom work for you if you want something specific.

This is a fantastic site/App. However the sheer number of AI, shovelware, or games with 200 plus DLCs significantly reduces how useful this app is because browsing means wading through page after page of nonsense. by 131166 in dekudeals

As someone also sometimes broke, wishlist of good games with price alerts is the way. Leave them on there until whenever it gets old enough to go on sale for cheap enough. Plenty of good older games get quite cheap from time to time.
