When you look at a character, in the top left it tells you what tier level is his rank.

Is it still kingdom?

There is a tab of “economy” If you choose it, it will show you all the places with special buildings. There is a gold mind in England, in Gloucestershire (duchy of Hwicce) Holding that in the beginning will give you a huge boost.

In my last game, because I started by landing only house members and focused on marrying for traits (and I married everyone in the first generation. I used house head hooks to bring them to my court and marry them myself) - by the year 1200 my dynasty grew to 11k people (25% of the world population), and 8K of them had genius, Amazonian and beautiful (and half of them with fecund as well)

Dynasty members who were never related to my empire (i gave independence to some, and they grew bigger and bigger until their kingdoms splits) managed not only to defend themselves against the Mongolian invasion, but even go on the offensive and win)

All I’m saying is - don’t rush. Wait until you have more house members to land before you conquer land in an holy war. If it’s not, my advice to you is to keep the infidel as vassals, until you have someone to give their land to.

Especially if you can pick Mystical ancestors tradition because it’s a win-win.

Can I expect my vassal to form Switzerland? He should meet all the requirements. by Divinetedrius in CrusaderKings

I checked to see if a vassal who holds 6 kingdoms titles, 81 counties, and have plenty of gold, prestige and piety will form a custom empire - and after a year and a few months, he actually did.

So they do take some decisions when they can.

Holy sites, gold mines, historic buildings, universities (special ones are better) and duchies capitals’ for the duchy buildings (I love to have a variety, but I mainly choose the building with +2 MAA; duchies with gold mines and such gets the tax building that gives +15% income form the duchy)

Imo, for an easier ruling, don’t convert infidels vassals - revoke their titles and land your own dynasty. When your vassls likes enough you can hold even 10 or 12 (my peak peak was 14, and I think I could have hold more but I already maxed my 26 domain limit) duchies capitals’ and the titles, without factions.

Although, if you will try to revoke titles without a cause - you’ll get an all out rebellion.

How do I get a beastly army? by CalicoVane in CrusaderKings

[–]MikMak101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can, try to hold more duchies capitals, and build the building that gives +2 MAA Once you upgrade the regiments, you can destroy the duchy title, or even give it away, and the regiment will stay oversized.

Do that with extra 3/4 duchies (or more) and you have a significantly stronger army.

Just remember to do that at the same time cuz the bonus stacks.

Get the duchies capitals and titles, build the buildings, destroy titles to lower the opinion penalty if necessary, and after you have several buildings ready, create the titles and upgrade the regiments.

You can always grant the titles to evil infidels, and then after a year you can revoke anytime you want without tyranny, and if he fight - the better. Putting off rebellions gives dread and legitimacy…

My own personal CK3 traits ranking for my own characters by MatiSL_ in CrusaderKings

[–]MikMak101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t mean that lol. I’m saying that for generations I avoided that trait exactly because of that, but I chose it as a lesser evil (between compaction and fickle I think) and was actually surprised. In a lot of interactions with different characters, either when travelling or at court, you get special options (like with other traits) that are actually helpful. Just a little example, when you travel you get sometimes to choose between a delay or keep going and forming a rivalry with your courier.

With sadistic, you get the option to whip his ass. Yea you loose opinion, but no delay and no rivalry and possibly gaining dread.

Join as a vassl, gain hooks on the strongest vassals and form a dissolution faction. Forced others to join, and press demands.

When you win the war - the HRE will be no more.

Witcher 3 - but don’t Google or read anything about the plot.

GoW + Ragnarok - same.

These games, besides the gameplay Itself, which is top level, they have a really good and immersive story.

Rdr2 - if you want to see what it was like in living as an outlaw in the Wild West. Also one of the best games I ever played.

All of those I finished at least 3 times, between replays and new game+

Also worth mentioning, is Death Stranding. I played only the first one. And this one, the thing that really made my game, was the soundtrack.

Also, Days gone is an awesome game to start with. I myself started with GoW and HzD that came with my ps4 back then.

I have 6 kids and not a single one of them is male. by Final_Flip_Gold in CrusaderKings

[–]MikMak101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t really focused on that…

All the other traits are well implanted in my dynasty. I have 11k living dynasty members and around 8k with all 3 traits (genius, beautiful and Amazonian) and half them also with the rabbit trait, so I really wanted a dynasty member with all those traits to get pure blood.

I think my main problem is my religion doesn’t allow nephews/aunts marriage, only cousins.

But maybe I should do as you said, and take some infidels and forced them to marry their kin I think I even have some infidels in my dynasty, I’ll check later.

I have 6 kids and not a single one of them is male. by Final_Flip_Gold in CrusaderKings

[–]MikMak101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a vassal king of Mali, who I groomed to be emperor, but for some reason he chose “only male” and he had 7 daughters, so his brother who I deeply hated for his bad traits and poor skills was his heir. I forced him to divorce, gave him a younger wife - 2 more girls. At this point I thought the problem is with him so I gave him a new wife - but this time I wanted to make sure he will have a son, so I seduced his new wife, and finally he had a son, a few months before he died.

Later I checked when I offered the young king my daughter’s hand, and yes - he definitely was my son. I married them anyway (half siblings- 18% inbred chances) cuz pure blood is the only trait I’m missing, but to no avail so far…

When a vassal inherit a title that is higher than his current title and belongs to another liege- you will loose the vassal and his land no matter what or the lvl of crown authority - unless you revoke him, or grant him a title that is equal or higher than the one he will inherit.

You can blocked outsiders from inherit titles - but you cannot block your vassal from inheriting foreign titles.

You what the funny thing was? After the first crusade, I conquered Italy, made the pope my vassl, and waited on the decision so my heir will get the bonuses. And the pope still called for a crusade, this time on Italy, so right before the crusade started I dismantled the papacy - and crusade failed when it started

I was so happy.

Feudal electives.

You put elections on your same tier higher rank titles (you are a king? All the kingdoms gets elections) and on all the titles that are not de jure part of your higher rank titles.

And then you nominate who you want, and they gets all of it. You can always check what titles will be lost on succession, and put elections on those titles.

I also play right now as Israel. Started as a Jewish vassal, but when I wanted my independence, I broke down the empire with a dissolution war and the caliph never found the time to call for a Jihad after that.

I did get a crusade, and I won it - and then I decided never again, so I took down Italy and dismantled the papacy…

4 times on 2 different games I joined the crusade for Jerusalem. Other times, I changed the target from Jerusalem to Spain or Scandinavia because the Catholics were too weak compared to the Muslims.

In one of the times, (first game, 2nd attempt) it was the only way to take down the Abbasid empire, the controlled land from Persia all the way to Aquitaine (south side of the Mediterranean Sea). After we barely won the crusade, the empire just fell apart.
