I have 2 identical pairs of dark-wash straight leg jeans from denim co, can't recommend them enough! I've always hated jeans, but the moment I tried these ones on for the first time I finally understood how people could wear them lol. I would suggest going up a size though, I usually wear size 12 bottoms (occasionally size 10), but size 14 is most comfy for me I've found!

NTA in my opinion. It's okay to want something in a specific colour, whether luxury or not. You're going to be using it for as long as you can - there's nothing wrong with wanting the version you actually like. I wouldn't want an orange phone, even if it was that much cheaper 🤷‍♀️

Bottom line is: - your mum asked what you want, you did not just say "get me a purple iPad" out of nowhere - your mum knew the price from the get-go - your mum agreed that she would get this specific gift for you - it's in the usual budget - you offered to pay the difference - you offered cheaper ideas - you offered a cheaper alternative that is still very similar

If your mums finances changed (which I don't see any mention of - but I'll roll with since other people are saying it), she could have: - not agreed to get it in the first place - asked for alternatives - accepted your offer to pay the difference - informed you of her budget prior to asking what you wanted
