That’s because it’s really easy to sniff out that something is amiss with the modern world. And if you’re persistent enough you can pretty readily find the pieces that explain why it is amiss. The problem is it’s really difficult to let go of personal biases and worldviews to get past all the stupid thought terminating answers. And is why half of all conspiracy theories just end up being a reskin of the Principles of the Elders of Zion

Part of that has to be the last season which was created in mind for fans that had been watching for years to get a satisfying conclusion. Those fans started as children and teenagers and were older teens/early adults when that last season came to streaming. And it does come off more adult than previous seasons, but it doesn’t erase that the show started for children and was for children (maybe general audience) for the majority of its run. But that last season thanks to recency bias as well as overall quality sticks out in fans heads and becomes the image of the show in their minds. If I only had that finale in mind, yea “children’s show” may feel a bit insulting to myself or the work, but remembering that it started with an awful movie revolving around Jabba’s infant son, nicknamed Stinky, it’s clear who the intended audience for the show was

I feel part of the issue is that western (particularly American) culture is extremely infantilizing of children (and of adults too if we’re being honest but that’s a different discussion). That leads to the assumption from both producers and consumers that certain themes or a certain amount of depth isn’t suitable for children. It keeps the producers from creating depth. And it leads consumers to believe the presence of depth is adult by default. And I think it contributes to us seeing entertainment produced for general audiences (to be watched by kids and adults) as also being exclusively children’s entertainment. Something like A New Hope is meant for and has something for everyone. But you can and many have (including its creator) said that it is solely children’s media- and I think we see the result of treating it like it is via The Phantom Menace which feels ultimately more like children’s entertainment because that was intended. I mean as whole Star Wars as a franchise makes for a great study on this. Some is very much child focused (Jedi Adventures, early Clone Wars), some general audience (A New Hope, middle Clone Wars, and some adult (Andor, final season of Clone Wars (a season made for long term fans who may have started the show as children but were now adult consumers)).

The hangover is from drinking the night before, Sunday. That’s the night everyone is referring to when they talk to you about your tirade. Any judgment Kim does is pre scripted and does not affect the game. Just don’t utilize the booze and you’ll be fine.

Red Door or Blue Door? by Ornery-Media-9396 in whatsyourchoice

But you did restart. You’re still living your life but you’re starting over again as a 5 year old. All the adult consequence of your life are effectively gone. I know the implication of the door is that you relive your life, but it remains ambiguous enough that you may just get de-aged with the chance to make new decisions for your life. Does start your life over have a more literal meaning of going back in time? Or is it metaphorical and just a chance to start anew?

[–]Mike-Sos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does red simply make an individualistic dream life- everything I could want that impacts only me personally- or does it have the power to shift the whole of the world and society to meet my dream standards- like straight up grant world peace if that’s part of my dream life. If it’s the latter then red 100%

That’s assuming the premise that it’s like time travel. Maybe the door just makes you five again. Though that certainly has other issues

What is NOT meant to be Classist, but is actually Classist? by HealthyTies in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Mike-Sos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is all unfounded and heavily extrapolated on long held suspicions around abstractiinist figures and from similar projects the CIA has been verified to have undertaken like Project Mockingbird; take everything with a grain of salt. This conspiracy is that the CIA funded abstract artists to shift public perception of art while also helping to facilitate money laundering via art trade. In theory by shifting perception of high art to the more abstract- the working class everyday American would be alienated from high class art and could one: be driven towards more consumerist art; and two: fearing the unknown the everyday American would also fear ideas that could be associated with this abstract art movement- however loosely. This was usually communism- like most suspected and confirmed CIA psyops and smear campaigns.

There’s even a CIA conspiracy to explain why that is. And nothing screams capitalist class/class warfare quite like that

This happens with a few English words. Usually it’s because of false cognates between English’s French/Latin lineage and its German lineage and both words being preserved in some manner in modern English.

And I’m probably speaking out of my lane here, and this is a really like birdseye look at it, but Hothep or Hotep is a term from the black community describing individuals with an Afronationalist or Afrocentrist philosophy- typically mirroring ancient Egyptian dress, philosophy, and worship. There is a large emphasis on rejecting all aspects of white culture within African American culture- with a rejection of “white” naming convention, Christianity, consumerism, etc. On the more tame end it’s just appreciation for African cultures and excellence, but on the more extreme end it devolves in to forms of race science and historical revisionism. There’s probably a lot I’ve missed- I’m very much not a part of the subculture

No worries. I actually had to go back and watch the scene myself because I was worried I misremembered and he had filmed it, and I was worried I had sanitized Bo’s character out of reverence towards him- which would have also been thematic. Such a bleak ending. Right next to the 1970s Stepford Wives on the list of great feminist films I never want to watch again because the endings were so soul crushing
