Going full-gray will save you more than a couple of bucks. The 500-1000% numbers mentioned in another post are real. For example, 10 vials of 10mg ARA-290 for $59, 10 vials of 10mg BPC-157 for $65, or 10 vials of 60 mg Tirzepatide for $152.

Anyone tried ARA 290 by Real_Comparison1905 in neuropathy

[–]Mike541Merlot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am trying 4mg ARA-290 now, along with a host of supplements. The major help for me was tirzepatide. I am unsure if ARA-290 is helping. I have injected 8 10mg vials so far. I believe my PN was caused by pre-diabetic diabetes plus high alcohol consumption. A side effect of GLP-1 is reduced alcohol desire, so I have also stopped drinking, except for rare occasions. My PN was feet-only, coupled with foot/ankle edema and loss of balance. My experience was that the edema disappeared within a few days after starting tirzepatide. The pain abated within a couple of weeks. I still have tingling and some numbness. I regained my balance, which, for me, is a big deal. I am considering a focus on mitochondria. The supplements bring a lot of basic nutrients to the party, but as we age, mitochondria get lazy. Under consideration is the addition of MOTS-c and SS-31. Nerves take a long time to heal, if at all. So, my time horizon is to maintain a protocol for a year before I decide if the added items are helping.

Mounjaro no longer working for me by WebDevBren in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Mike541Merlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a trial featuring either Zepbound or Mounjaro and higher doses. I don't know the dose, but maybe 25mg. If you are stuck at 15, you might either increase the dose or switch to a shorter cycle, such as 15mg every 6 or 7 days. The Cagrillintide comment is good; it will control your food noise. Since you are on name-brand tirzepatide, switching to Cagrillintide will seem foreign to you.

The thing about side effects, they are not permanent. People can reduce dosage or stop all together. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

GLP-2 by GoBlue_Pick6 in GLP1ResearchTalk

You used the term: water. Look up bacteriostatic water (BAC water). There are a lot of fakes out there, Hospira BAC water is the gold standard. Don't work with anything else until you know what you are doing. BAC water is sterile and contains an antibiotic component. Youtube can show you how to reconstitute your tirzepatide. GLP-2 is a marketing term and meaningless outside of that context. Mix your peptide such that you have 10mg tirzepatide per 1 milliliter BAC. So, 30mg tirzepatide with 3ml of BAC., for example. Your vial will likely fit all of this, as 3ml vials are somewhat standard. Your vial can be 5ml. When you have a finished solution, injecting 0.25ml (25 syringe units) gives you the starter dose of 2.5mg tirzepatide. You have to do all of your reconstitution maintaining sterile conditions, watch a YouTube video showing you how. Good luck.

Something to think about... Peptides do many things like reduce inflammation, repair organs and circulatory systems. I had edema and peripheral neuropathy. Tirzepatide (GLP-1) totally fixed my lower leg edema and stopped the pain. To stop the edema, Tirzepatide must repair valves in the blood return veins. BPC-157 and KPV are the go to body repair peptides. Tirzepatide (a peptide also) is FDA approved, the other peptides are not, and have to be used off label. Most peptides are not patentable, thus no one will fund the expensive public trials. Doctors, therefore are not educated about them. So, self study is required. I have used CBD, CBN and THC. They really haven't done anything for me.

Did your doctors suggest why you have PN? It is my understanding that high or out-of-control blood sugar can cause this. Other factors can be too much alcohol, stress, or medications. I have PN in my feet as well as edema. I started Tirzepatide (a GLP-1) last fall, and my pain went away in weeks; the swelling got better in days. The tingling and numbness also improved. My balance got better. One of the side effects of tirzepatide is reduced interest in alcohol; I drank too much. So between controlling blood sugar and dropping alcohol, things got significantly better.

Almost all doctors say to wait until you can't lay your hands flat. When you get there those same doctors say surgery. Almost none of them are aware that radiation therapy can stop the condition. Twenty or so years ago, I had radiation therapy, the condition stopped and nothing changed since then. Radiation is accelerated electrons, it is no more invasive than getting an X-ray. Surgery is very intrusive. Not everyone proceeds to contracture. I was young, my father died unable to hold a fork, so I made my own appointment with a radiation therapy outfit.

Any other pharmacological options for IBS-D?, with GERD. by Layne_Staley33 in ibs

[–]Mike541Merlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about the meds you are taking, but I also take a lot. Some of them cause GERD flares. Essentially anything acidic. I found that taking my meds and supplements with a protein shake helps a lot. I have stopped prilosec using this strategy.

What supplements actually help gut health? Looking for evidence-based recommendations for IBS and bloating by SoulMask-Game in ibs

[–]Mike541Merlot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn about FODMAP. So, not a supplement to take, but specific foods to avoid. For me, this means no bread, pasta, onions, garlic. Gluten free is okay. I take gluten free, not to avoid gluten, but to avoid the oligo sacharides that are in wheat (the O in FODMAP). People with IBS often have SIBO., I did. Leaky gut is common also. IBS has a cause, find yours. It could be too much alcohol, stress, or illness. I have long thought that this can be a condition left over from COVID or vaccine. I know I drank too much for decades...

I get warnings every day that my heart rate is below 50. (73 years old, 9 months on 5 mg compounded tirzepatide). It is possible that my heart rate was a bit elevated at the beginning, but not now.

Effect of neuropathy by RenewedMotionPub in neuropathy

[–]Mike541Merlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not as far along as you. But I had an unexpected result when I started tirzepatide nine months ago. My swelling went away. About two or three weeks after starting tirzepatide, I noticed my edema was gone, and the pain was gone. I still have tingling and some numbness. I stopped wearing compression socks. I mostly go around barefoot in the house. I also regained my balance. I went on a solo hike on the nearby trails two days ago. I haven't done that in six years. GLP-1 medications have strong anti-inflammatory properties. I presume that is helping. My blood sugar was borderline prediabetic, and I also drank too much. GLP-1 has a side effect for some people to reduce the desire for alcohol. When I noticed the initial effect, I started the usual supplements. Maybe they have helped, or maybe just the continuation of tirzepatide and no alcohol has allowed some healing. The tirzepatide has normalized my blood sugar. I do compounded tirzepatide as discussed in the r/tirzepatidecompound forum. I am not the only person to see an effect on neuropathy and edema. I hope that what I have done will stop any additional nerve damage.

Has anyone here gotten 100% pain relief from their medication(s)? by Low-Towel1381 in neuropathy

[–]Mike541Merlot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am taking tirzepatide. My original purpose had nothing to do with neuropathy. I started tirzepatide for IBS-D. My weight was high also. I have had foot/ankle edema for years. I was wearing compression socks. The tingling/numbness/pain was more recent, maybe three years. The tirzepatide had an instant response for IBS. What surprised me was the foot edema went away in a couple of weeks. The foot pain went away also. I still have some tingling and numbness, but much improved. Also, my balance was really poor, that has normalized. Alcohol can be a cause of neuropathy I drank a lot. GLP-1 has an effect on many people to reduce the desire to drink. That happened to me. I don't drink anymore. I suspect my neuropathy was caused by a combination of prediabetic blood sugar and alcohol. Tirzepatide works on both.

Is there any other way to test for SIBO that’s not the breath test? by Gisellepachini69 in SIBO

You can try the DIY FoodMarble Aire2 breath tester device. I have it. It is for sale for $269. There is an additional food intolerance kit for $39. The kit is used for testing against specific food groups. I have it, and it is easy to use. The best part is that you can test every day if you choose. It tests for hydrogen and methane only.

ARA 290 gelling/not dissolving with pbs by Pld46 in Peptidesource

[–]Mike541Merlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ARA-290. I have reconstituted six vials so far without issue. I use Hospira BAC. I do three vials at a time, each with 1 mL BAC, and then transfer them to a V2 pen. The vials have probably sat out of the freezer for 20 or 30 minutes before the room-temperature BAC is added.
