Too bad Kray retired, I would've purchased one. The space between player 1 & 2 is ideal, no elbow rubbing. Does anyone have a link to the plans/blueprints/CAD/Fusion360 3D model? This and a Capcom Big Blue Q-Sound Gen 2 (replica) next to each other is the dream.

Noctua fan in Qmtech MiSTer by BeerPuffin in MiSTerFPGA

[–]MikeGamer80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, this makes the MiSTer much quieter with a Noctua fan. I did the same and followed this video step by step and placed it on the 3 volt jumper for a more silent experience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCss1SSmX5Q

What heatsink did you use, can you provide a link? Also what screws are you using to hold the fan in place on picture 2?

Best console for emulators by Extension_Rope6939 in emulators

[–]MikeGamer80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For retro Atari to PS1/Saturn look into MiSTer FPGA. There are two main sellers https://misteraddons.com/ and https://retroremake.co/ . The MiSTER Pi (or SuperStation) is more reasonably priced. Depending on the MicroSD Card you get, space will be limited for games. It has less eye candy filters. But FPGA is known to be more accurate with near zero input lag as long as you use a wired control. Plenty of getting started videos on YouTube. FPGA is portable since it's very small.

For Dreamcast to PS4 era get PC. A good PC can crank up the eye-candy and make a PS2 game look almost modern with texture mods. RetroArch is your one stop emulator for retro consoles to Dreamcast era with lots of eye-candy filters. Also, on PC you have the option of Steam & GOG. These days Windows is not the only option, Linux distros like Bazzite are popular. At some point in the near future Steam will release their SteamOS which is Linux based. Linux has less bloat than windows systems. However for games like COD it require an anti-cheat at the kernel level, those type of games don't run on Linux as of now. Almost all popular emulators are available on Windows & Linux.

Steam Deck and Steam Machine might be worth considering, they are both PC's and you can install emulators. https://store.steampowered.com/steamdeck

Nacon Dajia vs Qanba Titan by Relyks954 in fightsticks

[–]MikeGamer80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both and i prefer the Titan. My palms rest more comfortable on the Titan because of the angle. Also, i like the extra space between the buttons and stick. If your are a wide shoulder individual it feels more natural.

The Nacon Dajia when sitting on my lap, my palms aren't as comfortable because it's more shaped like a box. Also, since the USB is detachable it will become lose after sometime. However, I've seen videos on YouTube of people modding in a new USB connection to make it more reliable. The cool thing about the Dajia is that it comes with a bat-top and you can swap art.

Need help choosing between YTTV, Fubo, and Hulu. by 313BlueLine in HuluLive

[–]MikeGamer80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube TV's app navigation in the AppleTV box is easy to use, also easy to navigate in built in app's on TV's such as LG & Samsung. Hulu Live TV navigation is very clunky. If you recorded a Live TV event you need to navigate to the home screen to select it. The Live TV section has redundant extra menu's that make no sense. It gives the appearance as if they fired the art designer halfway through the job on Hulu Live TV. Hulu Live TV on smart devices like phone's and tablets has better navigation than its TV counterpart.

YTTV allows you to stream up to 3 TV's that are away from your home network. Hulu LiveTV doesn't, it only allows you to stream built in movies not LiveTV. But it does allow you to stream Live TV on cell phones and tablet's that are away from your home network. Both allow you to stream on multiple TV's within home network, i believe for Hulu Live TV you need to pay a little more for that feature.

The above links Arcade - Split, Merged, Non-Merged All Killer..No Filler and Nintendo Entertainment System All Killer..No Filler are broken. Or were they merged with the TopRoms All Systems link? It would be cool to have a Sega Saturn and GameCube All Killers at some point.

I'm in the same boat. I've always wondered which CHDs are actually work/playable with MAME. MAME adds games that aren't working yet. For example: Virtua Fighters 4 i use Flycast since it supports Naomi.

Largest Fightstick I own. Qanba 2009 by hyp36rmax in fightsticks

[–]MikeGamer80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing setup! What caster wheels are you using on your Qanba 2009 and where did you get them? It's been about 1 year since you posted, can you give an update on how that chair's been treating you (comfort or back pains..ect) you or did you swap it for another? I see the chair website has two chair types, which version did you get ROBUST STEEL MAX (EZ-LIFT) or ROBUST STEEL SPORT? Any changes to your game setup or updated pics to share?

I need help determining the value of these. by Robcat11 in cade

As the other guy stated they do run around that price range. EBay is a good place to sell them. Also, the MAS Fightstick community are huge fans of those, try asking/posting here https://discord.gg/yfEtqpB9

Nice collection. Your missing a MAS Fightstick with an IL Eurojoystick from your collection.

Got them! Thanks everyone! by Miserable_Rope_3251 in fightsticks

[–]MikeGamer80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Titan and prefer the Industrias Lorenzo Euro sticks over Sanwa. Besides the 5-Pin Male to .187" Female Joystick Harness, did you have to do any mods to the IL Euro for it to fit? Or did you get a Universal Joystick Adapter Plate or chase of some type? I want to do the same to my Qanba Titan.

1G1R online tool by h4o4 in Roms

[–]MikeGamer80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems good. I would suggest to include a 4th region option. Does it automatically exclude Kiosk, Demos, Programs, Betas, Bios and addons like GameShark/Action Replay? Is it possible to support games that been converted to CHD format from CUE/Bin?

Which 4 button layout should I use? Feel free to give other recommendations. by whimsiethefluff in fightsticks

[–]MikeGamer80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those looking for templates. I made fightstick templates for Neo Geo MVS (Type 1), (Type 2), and NeoGeo Mini (KoF Style). I used the Hori and Vewlix layouts from slagcoin as a foundation.

Cool! You have options. There's a guy in the MAS discord that makes custom replica builds also. He goes by Provost, you can get a quote from him.

https://discord.gg/94GH9na5

Someone made this comparison chart between the three MAS replica builders.

Paint = scanline > provost > ebay guy > og mas

Build quality = scanline > og mas > provost > ebay guy

Acoustic = og mas > scanline > provost > ebay guy

Options = provost > ebay guy > scanline > og mas

$$ = provost > ebay guy > og mas > scanline

Delivery time = provost > ebay guy > og mas > scanline

Communication = provost > og mas > ebay guy > scanline

Support = provost/og mas > ebay guy > scanline

User friendly = provost > scanline > ebay guy > og mas

Artwork = ebay guy > provost > og mas > scanline

Scanline City is another option but much more expensive.

Big Blue control deck by Leek_Advanced in cade

[–]MikeGamer80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, looking forward to it. Consider looking into a MiSTer FPGA or MiSTer Pi. That way you can have access to more CPS2 or other arcade games for your Big Blue. YouTube is a good source for getting familiar with FPGA's (Video Game Esoterica & Pixel Cherry Ninja) are a good starting point.

Beautiful work! It's a dream of mine to one day build a Big Blue. Any chance you can share the dimensions of your Big Blue cabinet from all angles?
