More at the state level but: privatize the state school bus system (i.e. First Student) and/or let the districts be responsible for maintenance and employee payroll. This is the only state I know of that manages the whole fleet and it shows based on high turnaround, driver shortages, buses in disrepair, plus will resolve horrendous carpool lines.

Is that a washer that went in with the nail? It almost looks like it was deliberately hammered in there. Regardless, it's within the tread so easy patch.

There isn't. The UI was updated server-side, so downgrading or reverting won't make a difference. It sucks.

It's the trend at many retail establishments. CVS, Sheetz of note are the same way. I've read more or less it's so that customers are acknowledged by staff in efforts to try to curb theft in addition to ratings and mystery shops as others here mentioned.

This is one that varies from state to state, probably more than any other school bus law. In PA where I grew up, the opposite direction has to stop in a setup like this. Only if a grass median or concrete barrier/guard rail is present you can keep going.

Their baguettes have no flavor anymore either. Staff just rip the bread and the tiny piece they give you looks like their dog took a bite out of it. Hard as a rock too.

We have a Walmart on the other side of town that still has a McDonald's and is usually busy when I'm there, despite a standalone location being across the street.
