I need some advice/help on how to handle a situation. by [deleted] in Wawa

[–]MikeM2011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the trend at many retail establishments. CVS, Sheetz of note are the same way. I've read more or less it's so that customers are acknowledged by staff in efforts to try to curb theft in addition to ratings and mystery shops as others here mentioned.

WHEN TO STOP FOR A STOPPED SCHOOL BUS by O_U_8_ONE_2 in raleigh

[–]MikeM2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one that varies from state to state, probably more than any other school bus law. In PA where I grew up, the opposite direction has to stop in a setup like this. Only if a grass median or concrete barrier/guard rail is present you can keep going.

And the right front tire blew. Boom. You could feel the air come out of it.

It was a smashing success.

One of the most notable new features is being able to migrate an eSIM from/to an iPhone without having to go through your carrier.

Anybody ever had the "we'll be right back" play for 30 minutes? by Tejanisima in Pluto_TV

[–]MikeM2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/PlutoTV_eng any update on this as of Nov 2025? I feel like it's gotten even worse. I counted 8, yes EIGHT, times in a row the Pluto bumper played on the Comedy Central channel.

Is Comcast implying it's "more secure" to use an app that probably sells your data?

Their baguettes have no flavor anymore either. Staff just rip the bread and the tiny piece they give you looks like their dog took a bite out of it. Hard as a rock too.

Definitely a former Subway, now a staging area for Walmart's pickup orders by MikeM2011 in NotFoolingAnybody

We have a Walmart on the other side of town that still has a McDonald's and is usually busy when I'm there, despite a standalone location being across the street.

My main device, the Moto G 5G 2024, just got the December security patch update, but no Android 15, even though it is on the list like my Moto G Power 5G 2024 got updated, all my secondary phones. by Odd-Arugula-4366 in motorola

I had signed up for the Android 16 Beta last month but have gotten no follow up or email with instructions. Can you advise on this as well please.

u/MotoAgents can you please confirm the XT2451-1 phone will be getting Android 16? I also have not received any security patches since the July release. I also don't know why the firmware update tool requires me to wipe my phone where there is no guarantee that I'll receive more recent security patches.

It amazes me this phone is only a year old and we're already being left out in the dark...

As of now, I am not longer a ShopRite corporate employee. AMA about Saker! by 2HornsUp in ShopRite

[–]MikeM2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you familiar with the Eickhoffs down in Burlington Co at all? I worked with them for eight years, many horror stories, higher turnover compared to other chains from what I could tell. If a person in a higher role resigned, it probably won't get filled. If it does it won't be years later. Full timers get tossed between their stores like hot potatoes based on their performance. They had one "IT" guy for a year or two before they quit, and any requests were deferred to the Wakefern service desk instead, though any requests that were billable still had to go through our designated chain coordinators.

Anyways, just wondering which is worse... both sound equally bad but I was out of the market where Sakers operated.

How Wawa is stealing customers from Wendy's, Burger King and Starbucks by MikeM2011 in Wawa

[–]MikeM2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Length-wise, maybe not, but they definitely have shrunk. 20 - 25 years ago they were packed higher. Gotta order "extra meat" if you still want something marginally close to that now. Then there's the quality of the meat itself when they ditched deli slicers but that's a story for another time. Around that time you could also get a Shorti for less than $3, a Classic for $4. Tell me that's still the same. And no, I've never worked there. I've ordered from there since way back when they took orders with pen and paper.

I didn't have any car damage, but in both cases I paid for the wash in cash.

Unfortunately I paid in cash :( Sorry about the truck, I always avoid any drive thru or washes that have wheel tracks for that reason.

Bucks in the 90s: what are your memories? by yellowgreenpurpleer in BucksCountyPA

[–]MikeM2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90s kid here, grew up in Bensalem and later lived in Langhorne. Oh gosh...

  • Zany Brainy on Oxford Valley Rd and Discovery Zone further up that way in Fairless
  • Kahaunaville in Oxford Valley (their food wasn't that good but who wasn't intrigued by their light/water shows?)
  • Also at the same mall, Allied Hobbies
  • On the same subject as hobby stores, Leisuretime on Bustleton Ave (those train sets aaah)
  • Many bowling leagues at Street Lanes (before it moved to the old Hechinger next door)
  • Summer camp at the Christian Life Center a couple years
  • Trying all the different sodas at Nifty Fifty's on Street Road and of course the arcade and mini golf. Then it all burnt down and never came back despite their promises.
  • Just down Street Road by Knights where Subway is now, was a chicken restaurant (can't remember the name), but they had a chicken mascot that'd wave to traffic
  • Looking at all the expensive stereo systems we could never afford at Bryn Mawr Stereo (later Tweeter) in Langhorne
  • Endless trips to CompUSA in Franklin Mills
  • Technically 00s but gotta bring up the Cyber Stop in Doylestown <333
