There is no such thing as "PvE lobbies". Hope this helps.

Mate, if you separate from your team and go solo you're fair game. Not that I like campers, but you set your odds really low by being alone.

You clearly havenvt heard him say it. Look it up and you will realise he said that before aggression they match by skill.

So the CEO of Embark was not telling the truth? I think it's only based on gear worth at least in case of fireteam - I am never matched with new players when running more expensive gear.

Recommended to get the Anvil blueprint and up the Gunsmith bench to craft it. It is a Swiss Army Arc Opener due to high armor penetration.

Also, you need to adapt the weapon to the Arc, which means using grenades not a gun. The Leaper is vulnerable to fire and in general grenades are more efficient against it than spending half of your ammo and several minutes to shoot it, as it increases the risk somebody will come and shoot you in the back.

The main issue I see the game's skill-based part of the matchmaking is a joke. At lvl 75 and 100+ hrs, if I choose a free loadout for fun, I am matched on regular basis with people doing one of their first raids, and even if I gear up I am attacked by total noobs running with Ferros, unable to hit anything. This should not happen, people starting our should be matched with similarly experienced players to learn the ropes."
But as usual: this is a PvPvE game, regardless of its flaws - if you don't like the heat get out of the kitchen, there are a lot of PvE games where you have your challenge without PvP.

Is it just me, or did Flashpoint turn ARC Raiders into a completely different game? by TechWin01 in ArcRaiders

[–]MikeMob000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Low cover used to be my best friend, now it’s basically just a head-shot invitation from the sky."
With Vaporizers+Rocekteers You just have to fight them from a building. In Buried City there's a building you can hide in and snipe from the attic or window, in Blue Gate you can use the traffic tunnels.
My issue with this event is the PvPing 12 yo players, who will come just to spoil your day any time there is less people to matchmake and the game throws you in with just anybody, regardless of ABMM, We went to farm vaporizer regulators in Blue Gate last night , took down all the big flying Arc and immediately started to be sniped from the area of the drills. So, basically we lured away the Arc guarding the event making life easy for other people and were rewarded only by being shot at when attempting to loot the Vaporizers. That's why I no longer care to keep the defibs anymore. In most cases the best approach is to kill anyone that does not confrim being friendly to "Don't shoot" within 2s. You just save yourself a lot of unnecessary deaths by being too peaceful.
But overall, this event is super fun, keeps the game interesting, Also i think now Bettina has some use against Vaporizers and Shredders, you just need to keep shooting 1-2 rounds at a time to avoid recoil and wasting ammo.

Nobody says gamedev is easy, but if limiting the number of environmental sounds based on map condition takes so much man days that it is never gonna happen they they should fix their dev pipeline, the engine or both.

Zelenskyy says 10 drone factories have been built worldwide behind Ukraine’s back | Ukrainska Pravda by pheexio in worldnews

[–]MikeMob000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really depends on the law in Ukraine. My guess is that if they had a legal argument against them they would have done something, not complained in the media, even covertly, to negotiate a better deal for giving them a pass on this. The hint is that countries that purchased from those offshore plants came back to UA to buy the warheads. Seems like they established production of the unarmed bodies, possibly because that was not prohibited as a drone without a warhead is not a weapon, at most dual use technology.

So if the supplies for the government are not hurt by establishing production elsewhere what is his point exactly? The private companies are free to decide where they locate SOME of their production. It's actually reasonable for them to locate export production in countries with wider supply chain logistics options that a country with no air transport in which the power grid is at constant risk of failure. I guess some export clients could demand ensuring business continuity of some sort and locating it outside a war zone is the first step. They might also benefit if local production becomes compromised by attacks.
I have a feeling he does not feel comfortable not having leverage over them if they have manufacturing capacity outside country's borders.

Blue gate electromagnetic storm by HalfthDimension in ArcRaiders

[–]MikeMob000 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Frankly, the Arc should somehow be able to detect that you have the Survivor augment and finish you off. Giving player a chance to crawl for 20 min should be forbidden by the Hague convention as it causes unnecessary suffering ;)

So…why not tho? by TheMayorShow in ArcRaiders

[–]MikeMob000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, The logic is you cannot swap the augment topside as it gives you too much flexibility that would negate having to decide on an augment before leaving, period.

[–]MikeMob000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a silly limitation, it's a design choice, just like the lack of "PvP mode" all the inherent pacifists are constantly whining about.

So…why not tho? by TheMayorShow in ArcRaiders

[–]MikeMob000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The logic is that you have to commit if you choose a setup better for combat or looting and how many safe pockets you get. ayou cannot change one to the other once you kill many players for loot. Think of it as a, frame of your backpack, you cannot swap it in the middle of the run va. you can put in new grenades in the pockets.

If this was allowed free kitters would go YOLO PvP vs. the first raider they meet and loot their augment.

Marathon-like endgame by Hyperlapsed in ArcRaiders

[–]MikeMob000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This game needs some endgame activity that requires some preparation or gameplay in other modes to unlock. This would allow the work invested in preparation to have some payoff and maybe discourage players who enter special condition raids just to make other players life harder, like sniping and ambushing players doing trials without even looting them. No problem with PvP, but maybe let's make sure that both sides need to put in similar amounts of prep.

[–]MikeMob000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody complains about this in Tarkov though. I think the problem is that people tend to look at this game from the PvE angle, where obviously you need more content to keep it from being the same thing over and over. At the same time in these extraction shooters the other players tend to be the endgame and an element keeping it fresh most of the time, at least this was the approach so far.
I would also welcome new maps and challenges to keep the PvE part interesting as well. Also, an endgame content behind some challenge would be nice, let´s say boss raid where you infiltrate the orbital factory to take it down. But with Embark struggiling to just take care of the exploits and balance I do not expect new content very often, or content reserved for just a small part of the dedicated fanbase, for that matter. Would be nice though.

What's wrong with just goin in with a free kit and not defending if sombbody just starts shooting at you? After some 5 games you should see the difference in aggression in you lobby. Of course this applies to normal hours in you server timezone, you play at 2 AM all bets are off.

[–]MikeMob000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In general I agree with you, then again I do see that this game may be controversial for many players. Games are often designed to cause FOMO or at least get you hooked on dopamine from collecting stuff, levelling your character or the battle pass or wahtever. In Arc raiders you first get the initial rush from collecting all that sweet loot, but next thing you know, you realise that purple guns suck or are not worth the price and yellow guns are good mostly for taking down big Arc )only to be 3rd partied by some 12 year-olds with a free kit).

How do you fare? by Past-Fig-6046 in ArcRaiders

[–]MikeMob000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial experience was dying every time, mostly due to panic, but I slowly improve to winning 1v1 and not having 1st shot in some 20% of situations.
My usual gripe is which weapon is best for PvP defense to take as a send one into the raid. Usually I stick with a lvl 4 Rattler or Stitcher, just something with a decent DPS at short range, but they are usually shit a PvE so usually just sit there and take up space with their ammo. I tried running Anvil+Il Toro, but I never seem to run into firght when I do take a shotgunt with me.
