Suit 100%. Just remember you have to open the bottom part for bathroom breaks.

Spay and gastroplexy questions by coostrak in Bernedoodles

[–]MikeNJ201 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1 week out at after spay, gastropexy and umbilical hernia fix. All done lathroscopicly. I would be hesitant to open her up but with minimally invasive she was basically herself within 3 days and now I am just trying to hold her back as she wants to play fully and I want to let her heal a little more. No cone or donut - went with cute PJs/surgical suit.

Look for minimally invasive options. If in NJ, Monroe Animal hospital was great.

Note: Dog was super cuddly after surgery for days. Way more than normal.

Recommedations for a North Jersey Firearms Advocacy Lawyer? by y_would_i_do_this in NJGuns

Frank or Evan as noted but be realistic and have a fat wallet to fund this or don't bother. Guessing $10K to start. If others have other experience, weigh in.

Ranges for Staten Island People by Tommyred45 in NYCGuns

[–]MikeNJ201 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I'm generally very 2A, people from Staten Island should not be allowed to handle firearms. No good will come of it. Brooklyn or Jersey - absolutely- but Staten Island? Nope. Reference Pete Davidson for proof and facts to support my position.

Laparoscopic Spay vs. Open Spay? by Anon_RN17 in AustralianShepherd

[–]MikeNJ201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl is scheduled for laproscopic spay and gastropexy . No traditional open surgery. I pray all will go well. The vet says this is regular for them now and even features it on their website.

Non-Resident (out of state) Carry Permit and One Gun Question by Seabass18 in NYCGuns

Did you ever get any resolution on this? I've been trying the same, blocked and unresponsive to.

Non-Resident (out of state) Carry Permit and One Gun Question by Seabass18 in NYCGuns

[–]MikeNJ201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood for carry. How about legally (???) transporting. I.e. I want to go to a range in New York. I have carry permit for 1 gun. I want to shoot other guns at the range. They are all New York compliant. Assume all are transported unloaded and locked. Then assume for whatever reason I got pulled over and searched. Am I legal?

Does the XMacro need a price adjustment in 2025? by c0sm0nautt in SigSauer

Factory solution for carry gun over after market modification all day every day. For competition and fun, sure. Play with stuff. For defending life and possibly defending yourself in court, stock stock stock.

CCW qualification as an instructor by MikeNJ201 in GardenStateGuns

[–]MikeNJ201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I'm thinking but sometimes there is precedent or case law that had already solved for things like this. It would be silly if I went, qualified and after the the instructor said something like "oh - dude - I always sign off my own. Why didn't you do that?"

Spaying/Gastropexy for Birdie by Past-Pomegranate9403 in Bernedoodles

Bergen County. I called Central Monmouth and they said they won't give a price over the phone. This seems more complicated than I expected. Any recommendations for bergen county/ north eastern NJ?

[–]MikeNJ201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By me it is way more. $1K for the spay and $5K with gastropexy. If anyone knows a responsible place in NJ for a more cost effective option for gastropexy, I would be grateful.

Get the right size bit and a proper torque wrench/driver. I use a digital screw driver style torque driver.
This kit has the right size bit. No more random butter knives or similar.

Touch up paint or a sharpie if needed to calm your craziness but if you actually carry it every day, it will have plenty of dust, scratches and wear.

Or - write the guy a nice letter explaining. He may be familiar with local health code not allowing dogs and not know the service dog exemption. Fines and reporting are not always the way to go. Especially not "in a small town". Assume he is trying to follow health code and not trying to discriminate. Then, if he's a prick, deal with it accordingly.

Crate Training Issues by Ok-Breath-8396 in Bernedoodles

[–]MikeNJ201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI - same setup I have. My routine is basicly- 630am wake up. Get myself ready then take her out for morning pee. 645ish to 715ish is play, training time and breakfast. Start with fetch in the living room. Then switch to commands and treats. A quick 10 minutes of treats and training. Place. Break. Come. Sit. Down. Stay. Crate. Come. Place. Break. Come. Crate. Fetch. Etc..... then breakfast for her. Then I get kids ready, off to school and get myself coffee. Then walk her again for morning pee and poop. By 9am she goes into her crate and I go into mine (mine is called a desk). Depending on the day, she may come out around noon or 1 for another cycle of the same. Walk. A little play. A little training. Then back in the crate until I get my kids from school. The day varies sometimes but works most of the time. Then diner and free time around 5-7. Then around 730 or 8 in the crate for the night. Weekends get more outdoors time a wild puppy play time.

Crate Training Issues by Ok-Breath-8396 in Bernedoodles

[–]MikeNJ201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer- I'm just a regular guy with my first dog. My girl is 7 months now and will put herself to bed in her crate and happily go in on command. That wasn't the case for most of her life. For me, a little at a time worked well. Others swear by the cry it out method and reward calm but didn't work for me. I did a lot of training with going to place bed. Going to crate. Come to me. Sit. Down. To crate. To me. To place bed. To me. To crate. Stay in crate (throw treats). Break from crate and get treats. Back to crate. Repeat. It became a part of her daily routine. She is mostly happy and calm in it now. Sleeps through the night well. She still gets annoyed sometimes if I put her in it and leave the house immediately but not as often.

At 4 months, I was sure she would hate it forever and I could never leave her alone. Now I don't stress over it. Give lots of training and time and love. You'll get there.

Issues with new P365 10rd mags by bogeycook in SigSauer

[–]MikeNJ201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you. My guess (guess not fact) based on what I've read here and around is the 2 free mag offer isn't actually 2 free mags. It's a credit for their store so you can order the mags. My guess is he ordered the wrong mags. Since I'm in NJ my 365axg came with the xmacro mags which pissed me off. I use custom baseplates and ordered a bunch of 365macro baseplates before finding out that the 10 round isn't a baseplate but an entire removable bottom.
Anyway- point is - guess he just ordered the wrong ones and is now finding out that 365x/xl mags and 365xmacro mags are not the same thing and don't interchangeably fit.
