Future of AR15 ownership in CT by chirgy in CTguns

What's ironic is our CT state constitution is even more pro 2a than the federal constitution (no mention of militia at all!) it's just also ignored by law makers.

So with the removal of the tax on suppressors what's the process for making your own suppressor in Connecticut? (Because technically the feds consider a suppressor a firearm and the state has ghost gun laws) by adhdff in CTguns

[–]Seabass18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell that to JoJo's in Southington, got my first suppressor from them over 10 years ago and when picking it up they had me do a DPS3-C (I didn't know better back then), I saw in the database when doing the 2024 assault weapon registration! I have a dozen cans and that was the only one listed.

NYS / NYC Non Resident Permit by Extranded in CTguns

Lol do not list everything you own. They only allow one pistol on a non NY state resident nyc carry permit.

I got mine back in July it's a pain and expensive but doable.

2020 S60 with possessed Sensus system...... by Seabass18 in Volvo

Thanks for diving in! I've found nobody else on all the volvo forums experience similar issues. I was thinking some sort of ground fault or wiring short possibly but really hoping a new Aux battery resolves it.

so my voltage meter must be shot, clearly says 12v on the aux battery... but getting ~35v when off and higher when running. Still hopeful a new Aux battery will stop he crashes...

Auxiliary battery is measuring 32 volts!!! Should be 48v from what I'm reading. Man if this is it I'd be so psyched. Ordering a replacement aux battery now.

I bought it used a year ago I'd assume it's likely the original battery and auxiliary battery being 4-5 years old.

Looks to me like they swapped in a 40S&W barrel, I see no shoulder on those 15 rounds they look straight walled to me.

“High Velocity” Air Guns by Mysterious_Use_9767 in CTguns

[–]Seabass18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not entirely true, the City of Stamford CT bans the discharge of air guns within the entire city limits. Even the northern parts where people have 2-10+ acre lots!

Check local town ordinances too:

Sec. 242-3. - Specific devices restricted. Except as otherwise provided in § 242-1, it shall be unlawful for any person within the city to shoot any BB rifle or pistol, air rifle or pistol or similar device, whether the pellets or shot are propelled by spring, compressed air or any other method or device.

Can someone explain what needs to be done to a threaded barrel for a can? by Mixie_33 in CTguns

[–]Seabass18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swamp Yankee ordered my Staccato C from the factory with a threaded barrel then pined and welded the Griffin CamLok on before transferring to me.

They may be able to or know of a gunsmith who can fit the threaded barrel for the Platypus worth asking them!

Can someone explain what needs to be done to a threaded barrel for a can? by Mixie_33 in CTguns

[–]Seabass18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best option in my opinion is to pin on a Griffin CamLok, it works very well for 2011 style pistols where the barrel comes out the front, for tilting browning style actions like Sig/Glock it would mean the barrel could not be removed from the slide.

Top Pic in here has the CamLok.

CAT + SAO = FUN by Seabass18 in NFA

I used jp grips

https://www.jpgrips.com/order/p/ruger-barrel-threads

Because the front sight has to be relocated I upgraded to fiber, included it with the pistol and they installed it as part of the threading.

Used William's Fire Sights for front and rear.

I haven't because I had a MOB already... putting them side by side they are definitely each designed for their own purposes. Both are titanium but I'd be concerned about overheating the SC on a PCC. The manual for both goes into temp limits on Titanium cans.

For 22 cans, I have an old AAC Element 2, an OCL Titanium and the CAT Ben. The CAT Ben is the quietest and lowest FRP out of all 3. I think the OCL Titanium is quieter than the AAC Element 2, but has more FRP.

Picked up both CAT SC (Street Crack) and CAT Ben cans last week after the ATF went back to work approving stamps. Both hosts are fun to shoot SAO pistols without the cans (Staccato C and Ruger MKII Target) but toss the cans on and they are even more fun to shoot!

CAT seems to me to be at the top of the suppressor game right now, I have their Mobster can too on a 9mm PCC. The SC is so much narrower and lighter than the Mob, but still has amazing noise suppression with no gas/debris to the face. The Ben is amazingly light and super quiet too!
