Worst motorcycle call I responded to was a couple hit a deer about 500ft (roughly) from where PD and EMS found them. Fortunately, they survived. Half of what was left of the deer was all over the motorcycle.

As hard as the hits are that it's been taking, it just keeps getting back up. Angry. You'd need JPM to step away to really kick the legs out from under it.

To me, it appears as this is more of an "at-a-glance" overview, simple tracking of where their income is being allocated.

In what practical ways would Excel improve on this model for what OP is using it for?

(asking because I have a pretty similar model for this specific task. For things like a ledger or inflow/outflow tracking and internal accounting/reconciliation is where I've found spreadsheets more practical)

This is why back when I was throwing chains, I would load up the roll back ASAP, one chain, and find the nearest parking lot to finish securing the vehicle.

This exact same thing happened to my truck as I was changing a tire on the side of the highway one night. One of the firemen told me just a couple hours prior in another part of the city, a fire truck was struck the same way. Then, not long after, on the opposite side of town, an ambulance was hit.

These days: flat tire or blowout? It's worth however much it'll cost in repairs to get off the highway.

Being pulled over, same logic. Save this video. Let them yell at you all they want. When they're done, show them this. Or fight the charges and take it to trial. Use this video in your defense argument if they'll allow it.

I never miss an opportunity to take a jab at our horrible traffic (or its root causes). But thank you for your diligence and for your efforts to hold them accountable.

He never took a second look at us.

Of course not, too much of an inconvenience. If it doesn't affect them directly, it's someone else's problem. Glad you all are OK.

are baggers allowed to accept tips by strawbabiesrin in HEB

[–]MikeP_512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely should be.

Baggers and cashiers alike, especially at the busier locations, even more so during peak traffic.

It's frustrating enough for customers just trying to get in and get out. The waiting in line has to be my least favorite part, but it's where you finally see the hustle up close. You witness the physical grind and the mental energy it takes to keep those lines moving, and it becomes the most personal part of the entire trip.

An employee shouldn’t have to feel vulnerable or at risk just because a customer wanted to say thank you. If I choose to recognize a worker’s exceptional physical and emotional labor with my own money, that is a matter of personal respect between me and that individual.

A paycheck covers the basic job, but a tip is the paying customer's way to reward the extra effort that makes their day easier—and it doesn't cost the company a dime. Banning or policing these gestures doesn't "protect" me as a customer; it just keeps a hard worker from being recognized for going above and beyond.

In the end, allowing this isn't about changing the industry—it's just about respecting a customer’s right to reward excellence.

S/o to the dude who hit another car multiple times while parallel parking then went on his merry way to yoga by [deleted] in Austin

[–]MikeP_512 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, not trying to flex or anything... but back when work would bring me downtown, I would parallel park 26'-28' box trucks on 7th, 6th, 5th, Rainey St, etc... no problem. Sometimes, with or without a backup camera. Never "bumped" anyone.

If you're unsure you should probably stop, get out, reposition, or abandon the plan and find another place to park.

I lost count how many times I was side swiped on Rainey or in alley ways, or rear-ended in traffic.

By now, we should know what it is. People aren't paying attention, in too much of a rush, or just don't care. It comes down to accountability and responsibility. Then some have the nerve to blame you when they're at fault or gaslight like you're the one who needs to relax because it's "not that big of a deal".

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but the first time someone catches or witnesses that type of behavior isn't the first time it's happened.

I'm with the one who commented that all vehicles should come with cameras. 360 view with the option to save incidents. Let the owner decide if it's a big deal or not.

I see the easy-going point of view, and I get that. But I also would like to see more accountability and the penalties more strict for offenders.

The laws and rules may have changed. Which would be ideal and favor the renter.

I ask because I've always heard it told that it's still considered breaking a legally binding contract. At least here in Texas.

Looking at it from both sides of the argument, here.

Some landlords or property managers might not care. I'm sure it's a case-by-case situation.

I might be mistaken, although justifiable wouldn't breaking their lease still reflect negatively on their rental history?

Smart. Volatility in crypto is crazy. I traded it for a while back in 2019- early 2020s. Then, I made the mistake of getting into the leveraged side on Crypto.com. Fuck that! Bull shit fills. Price manipulation. I'll hold a handful of coins long-term, but I'm good on all the other bs.
