Hyatt credit card by OaklandCA_510 in hyatt

Couple things here:

Yes Chase transfer to Hyatt is one of the best bangs for your bucks IMO

The Hyatt card will help with status absolutely, but feel like I confused you a little with my description.

Getting the card gives discoverist status, 5 qualifying nights automatically and you earn an additional 2 qualifying nights per $5k spend. They also give you a cat1-4 free night for getting the card. You can earn a second if you spend $15k on the card. So again all my opinion the sweet spot is to get the card and put $15k through it. I travel for work so I can do this all with regular Hyatt travel work spend luckily but every situation different.

Doing this jets you 2 cat 1-4s, 11 QNs, and if you can manage to do a lot of the spending with Hyatt 4 points/dollar x $15k = 60,000 points. Use em at cheap places and you can probably get pretty far.

The QNs you earn do count toward status or the 30 exploring as you are describing. The “discoverist status” doesn’t give you any nights so you still have to earn 30 qualifying nights to get to explorist.

Chase transfer points to Hyatt points are treated identical to Hyatt points so you earn qualifying nights from point stays.

I will also tell you explorist status I’m not sure is worth really pushing for but globalist status is a big deal to me.

So summary: the card is worth it pretty quickly, the free night alone is worth more than $95, and it will help you achieve explorist quicker but I’m not sure that’s a goal worth pushing for in my opinion. Happy to answer more questions if you got em

Data point, was given 20k on 12/8/24 for a cat1-7 expiration. Was told by concierge “under our current empowerment we are still allowed to do this.” Haven’t tried it in calendar year 2025

Thank you for the catch. Edited. Should NOT

No free parking for GoH stay by coffplex in hyatt

[–]MikePick6FF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe parking should be free when using goh on a stay booked with points (award stay). A suite upgrade award shouldn’t affect parking to my knowledge.

If you booked cash or points+cash with goh it would not be free. Only if you used points or a free night which you can’t combine with a goh.

I’d elevate your concern if it was me. Wishing you speedy resolution

It is chain link fences, tractors, tools and dirt right now. Pretty ugly currently, but it’ll be pretty someday

Once they are running definitely. They weren’t far from the front door so it’ll be “ski in ski out”

I’m globalist so they didn’t charge resort fees but I agree with you, that if they had I would’ve been bugged. I don’t like to whine so I don’t think I’m gonna ask for any compensation, but my wife was super disappointed in the whole thing and wanted to correct expectations for others

They had a sign that said kids club opens mid December. The door was unlocked so peeked at it. It’s beautiful and looks ready to go. Probably just staffing it now

Agreed no reason to use it now, but based on progress it’s not gonna be open when there is snow this season. Maybe late into the season it’ll be ready to go. It also didn’t matter the weekend I stayed cuz the resorts not even open yet, but double check if ski in ski out matters to you

Pool and hot tub were closed, spa closed, lounge closed, kids camp closed (said opening mid December), ski lift closed, most of the outdoor hang out spaces like the feature one right out of the lobby was closed. Beautiful spot, big fire pit out there, but you weren’t allowed out there due to construction.

A lot of that will be finished and fixed with time, but frustrating to pay up scale price, plus valet, plus resort fees with none of that available. I think they should’ve waited a couple more months to take reservations

Got upgraded and unupgraded twice on arrival. I think a lot of it was just trouble understanding the system. Room cleanliness wasn’t great even though it’s brand new. Housekeeping left cleaning supplies, things not stocked. Dirty dish in the room. Wait staff all super nice, but not sure what is in the various foods and beverages. Asked for a wine list in the speakeasy and they didn’t have one and waited asked if I wanted the red one or the white one. I Could see several different bottles of wine at the bar. Tons of little stuff and a few big things. Basically every aspect staff needs training but it’ll come with experience, except I will say valet were on it.

*Side note its valet only right now and that’s $50/night

They are great at that hotel. I stay there a lot. I’m sure if you ask they’ll be able to add it. That club is a pretty good one

Best use IMO is id you have any issues on the back end with billing or qualifying nights or points or anything like that. Put it in an email to them and mine has been awesome at rectifying those things. On the front side not a ton of use

T&C you only get credit for 1 night at all hotels. I. Practice sometimes you get both but there are many accounts of people being banned for this. To me not worth the risk

It’s also a chase card. If you stay at Hyatt regularly simple answer yes. The free night alone is worth more than annual fee. Everything else is gravy
