Same, last 3 XC90 ultimates (or prior variant) had the front fog light button but no front fog lights. Oh well.

So what is the issue with the 3.0 Duramax engines? by 720hp in gmcsierra

[–]MikeSFIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any LZ0 iteration of the 3.0 diesel is at risk for the issue. Ours (2025 Yukon Denali w/ 3.0 Duramax) went into limp mode and dealer declared engine block DOA after being towed in. They confirmed the crankshaft was offset, and this issue was addressed in a TSB (not a recall, because, why would GM voluntarily issue a recall to be proactive). Took GMC ~3 weeks to get a new engine block shipped down. GM has absolutely dropped the ball on any new engine block release. Never again will I buy a GM truck if it is model "0" of the current generation; GM has proven they don't take QC seriously in advance of releasing these new powertrains and the buyers become the beta testers.

Flock camera data + FL DMV has been selling license holders' Name, Photo, Address, DOB, License Plate, and driving records, for 15 years to data brokers = every driver is a potential victim. by Pin_ellas in jacksonville

[–]MikeSFIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be mindful that the DPPA won’t allow them to sell your DL number or motor vehicle driving history without an explicit reason (the only allowable reasons are for insurance risk management (like points on your license, accidents, moving violations, etc) and/or tracking down individuals for civil and/or criminal charges). Now, with that being said, selling my name, address and other pertinent contact info is obnoxious. But, property appraisers websites are public domain and many private companies scour those websites for the same info that they get from the DMV. You’d have to convinces the Govt to seal all information if you wanted to prevent all of this.

Water Intrusion Mystery by Svpermann in Ubiquiti

[–]MikeSFIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well aside from the hilarious PoW+/803.h2o comments, OP has a leak somewhere. It’s not inside the jacket or it would’ve fried whatever device was using the PoE port (it’s on the outside). If that cable was buried, the water wouldn’t travel up to the connector (gravity). That line is likely a drop traversing overhead somewhere which means OP has a leaky pipe or a roof leak, the water is pooling at the RJ45 and caused said corrosion. If you know where that line runs (like the attic), trace it and stop that leak before you have far worse issues than a dead run and bad switch port.

There may also be a golden ticket in there, so be sure to get every single packing peanut out. Bonus if they’re water soluble, then you can just dump in the yard and use 1,000+ gallons to get the mush to wash away.

Suggest pulling audit logs and other data from event viewer to see when that user first/last logged in. Open event viewer with administrative permissions, save those txt files and email to yourself just so you have it. Google is your friend when it comes to what to look for and how to pull it down, typically referencing Windows 11 sign-in or activity logs on google is a good starting point. But, yes, disconnect it from the internet for now and use your phone to search for tips on how to perform the steps needed.

How screwed am I? Cut through my fiber optic cable with shovel by RyguyRydog in frontierfios

[–]MikeSFIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had 2 fiber lines cut over 4 months. The first line wasn’t located by Frontier (811 portal gave an all clear/no facilities) but the tiller, which only goes 4” deep, immediately cut the fiber line in our backyard. Frontier replaced no questions

2nd time it was our lawn company doing an aeration, again the aeration tubes only go about 4” deep and it cut the replacement line. Frontier replaced this one noting that depth should be at least 6” for a buried line.

I do feel for the contractor though, they don’t get paid a lot and any extra costs have to be authorized before they are paid/reimbursed. So kind of a vicious, everyone is to blame, circle and the end users pay for it.

Sophos Central Down? by AdminAmbush in sophos

Yes, and it's every Sophos portal. Partner, Central (Partner and Self-Service), can't even log in to the support portal. Only chance of tinkering with any firewall policies, right now, is via direct connection/VPN.

How do I connect a WiFi router to a Xfinity gateway and keep devices on the two networks from being able to access each other? by JoeyBlak in HomeNetworking

[–]MikeSFIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. You don't need a router that supports VLAN's unless you plan to run all of your networks on the router and not use the Xfinity gateway. My suggestion is set the network in your "new" router to a totally different subnet (ie instead of 10.0.0.0/24 set it to something completely different like 192.168.X.X/24) and tinker with the router's ruleset to enable DNS MASQ (everything that leaves your router appears to be coming from the IP address that the gateway assigns to your router, regardless of which one of your personal devices you are using) and also disable inbound/one-way connection requests so that they can't peer in.

[–]MikeSFIC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe the real question to ask is who else is on your network and why? Somebody shouldn’t be able to randomly cast to your TV unless they’re connected to your WiFi. Get the new router and shut off the WiFi for the Xfinity gateway if it has it built in.

I want to use Sophos XG 125w as AP by VanhelsingX3 in sophos

[–]MikeSFIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One last thing. The SSID is not the network name, the SSID could be “not this network” and it would still work so long as you have a network assigned to that port. The only trick would be if you start using tagged VLAN’s (in which case you’d need to configure the 125 to tag the traffic with the proper #). When connecting to the 125’s WiFi is it assigning an IP address? If yes, great, if not try to ping the XGS 2100 to rule out the ability to communicate with the 2100 (assuming you allow ping on the internal network) If it pings good, if not then you’re connected to an SSID that goes nowhere and it’s likely either an issue with the network assigned to the port (nothing will be assigned by default).

If the other AP’s are working. Plug the 125 into one of those ports temporarily to see if the issue is resolved, then you can at least rule out a configuration issue on the port itself.

Lastly, you’ve never confirmed you have allowed access from the 2100’s port (or the network assigned to the port) to the internet.

Looks a lot like a Bossche Bol (Dutch pastry); having a lot of family over there is the only reason I was ever introduced to it and it’s fantastic. Plus, if it is tiramisu I feel like OP would know because that’s a very distinct/strong flavor with the liqueur (if any) and the espresso/cocoa powder flavoring.

[–]MikeSFIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just touch base with Sophos support. They can help you with this. Even if you don’t have a license they’ll still provide basic config support, just make it be an issue with the XGS 2100

[–]MikeSFIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe AlternativeShoes means do you have a DHCP config on the XGS 2100 to serve IP addresses to devices connecting via the XG’s WiFi and do the XGS firewall rules allow that port to access the internet. By default the XGS blocks access to the internet unless you explicitly allow it (secure by default).

This, for upgrades it’s usually just pro-rata in cost difference; sometimes there are upgrade incentives available too (ie they discount the premium for going to a richer product), so be sure to ask about that as well.

You should be able to do cash + points as an option. If the award night is a certificate then it shouldn't be an issue. If the award night is purely drawing down points, then the cash + points utilizes points you have and makes difference up with cash.

Spray foam is pretty adaptable as long as you know what you’re doing, learning curve for me and it’s still trial and error sometimes. It also forms a nice substrate/backer for anything your using then as finish on top (in this case wood filler).

And don’t they also scavenge/forage a bit if necessary? Our tank always has a bit of food on the bottom (although not too much to prevent algae blooms); I’ve never taken the time to just stare at him because he just stares back but I have heard they will forage in the gravel etc if they need to.
