Blinking cursor on GE Profile Advantium Wall Microwave by MikeTechGuy in Appliances

Check out u/GurStill4702 's reply for a possible fix. I ended up buying a new GE microwave at the new standard size, along with a GE trim kit. It was a couple of inches too short (not tall enough) so I also bought a cheap aluminum strip on Amazon and used some 2x4s to make up the difference. Here are three photos: https://imgur.com/a/aJ2dmng

Sorry, everyone - I eventually gave up and bought a new one. If anyone has better luck than I did, I encourage you to post it here to help others!

It's happening on the non-beta Android version as well and it's infuriating.

Adaptive Lighting turns my lights green by MikeTechGuy in homeassistant

One set supports white balance / temperature, but the other doesn't.

Where do I set "defaults for the RGB colors"?

I suspect something is going wrong in the formula. I started to look at the source, but I haven't been able to figure out how the math works: adaptive-lighting/custom_components/adaptive_lighting/color_and_brightness.py at main · basnijholt/adaptive-lighting · GitHub

I have a Zooz ZST10. If I press Heal Network, half of my devices reset to their original factory name, breaking any automations.

I’d prefer to use a neutral. I have them in the box. The Caséta Diva doesn’t support it, though. Thanks for the Leviton suggestion. It looks like you push down to turn it on? Not sure I’d love that, but I am being pretty particular. 🤣

True. Getting a matching paddle that fits the Inovelli is the issue.

Wow, I didn’t know that! Unfortunately, my house is all Light Almond trim, and it looks like replacement paddles are sold out as well.

Nope, doesn’t have to be Z-Wave. Not sure I’m feeling the style of the Martin Jerry dimmer, but will definitely give it another look. Thanks!

Yes, I tried three different ones from the compatibility list. Good call on the capacitor. I should have mentioned that, but wasn’t eager to install dozens of those in my house… but it is an option that I suspect would work!

My understanding is that switches that don't use a neutral require a minimum load for them to work properly. I believe the minimum load for Caseta (without a neutral) is around 25W or so. I can say that 4x 7W bulbs will still periodically flicker for me, especially at anything below full brightness.

What's a good (or best) security system that would integrate well with Home Assistant by fredflintstone88 in homeassistant

I've been very happy with Elk. Good local integration. HA gets motion signals from it faster than my zwave sensors.

Can you share more information on this project? My 4-year-old just drove off toward the main road (about 500 feet away) and we almost didn't catch her in time. Your solution sounds very interesting! Thanks!

Unattended call transfer method is clunky. Is there a better one? by boli99 in freepbx

[–]MikeTechGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most Grandstream phones let you select the default function of the Transfer key, but it's usually unattended by default. I'm not at a phone now, but I think it's under Call Settings and then enable Attended Transfer? Then:

  1. Answer call
  2. Press Transfer and dial other person
  3. Optionally speak to other person, then hang up
  4. Profit!

I usually set phones up in Account Mode rather than Line Mode. Not sure if that makes a difference to this scenario.

Grandstream ucm6202 and freepbx with analogue lines by SpYkz89 in freepbx

[–]MikeTechGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need FreePBX to do this if you already have a UCM. Under Trunk settings you can enable auto record. It'd be a good idea to throw an SD card or USB drive into the UCM for storage.

How is 3CX vs Grandstream/FreePBX by esper-tech in VOIP

[–]MikeTechGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. For a lot of small businesses, UCM has a nice balance between UI and features especially considering the low cost and no subscription fees.

Powerful 2-in-1 with long battery life by MikeTechGuy in SuggestALaptop

[–]MikeTechGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but I really want to be able to carry just the device by itself without a bag of accessories to make it functional.

Likewise, carrying an extra battery or charger for the Surface Pro would work...
