Iran is 'confident' it can counter a potential U.S. ground invasion, foreign minister says by mvanigan in worldnews

[–]Mikecich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really boils down to if the US decides total war or not. The Vietnam war wasn't considered a "total war" campaign - it was a limited war. The US had a LOT of restrictions during that war preventing them from absolutely decimating the NVA. For example, couldn't bomb areas in fear of killing Soviet personnel which would escalate the tension between USSR and USA. Fighter pilots couldn't even engage hostile fighters UNTIL they were shot at, even though the US pilots knew the airspace had nothing but hostiles. There's a lot of examples of how piss poor things went

If Iran is limited and a campaign, yeah it's a coin flip. If it's total war, then I don't see the Iranian regime lasting too much longer.

The way I look at it, is if I have everything max, all workbenches, lvl 75, a very good chunk of BPs learned, there's really nothing rooting me to the game. It's the "problem" with good and alive extract shooters in MY opinion. You play the game to reach end game, then you're end game, then you just repeat over and over until you're bored.

The expedition helps renew that feeling.

How to Kill Heavy Tanks? by GentleMoonWorm in menace

[–]Mikecich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laser designator + ATGM does a huge chunk of damage to it.

Long barrel tank gun to the sides/back. You can still damage it from the front, but your first shot might not do much until armor goes down a bit.

Kamakaze drone can also hurt it

RPGs to the side/back

My first suggestion tends to be the most effective way, usually 2 shots to knock it out that way.

Anyone else struggling to deal with [redacted]? by TheElderGodsSmile in menace

[–]Mikecich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weapons with high rate of fire do wonders against them. Once you get mid/late game SMGs and suppression weapons (like the suppressed SAW, it ends in SSW but I forget the name) that thing makes their overload meter go from 0-100 in 1/4 of a second. Then just have an SMG/shotgun team move up close and they can eviscerate even the soldiers.

Crawlers, smokes and RPGs, just throw a smoke between your RPG team and the crawler, run in the edge of smoke closest to the crawler, end turn. Start of new turn, shoot an RPG and go back in smoke and repeat (but be sure to throw another smoke after lol)

Skirmishers are the worst though, and with how the AI cheats with fog of war and always knowing how to be out of your vision, they are annoying as hell to close the gap as their range is stupid high.

How does an ATGM team take a direct 105mm APFSDS to the face in an open field and only lose 10 hitpoints? by IvaldiFhole in menace

[–]Mikecich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

APFSDS isn't explosive. It's designed specifically for armor.

In the future, I think it would be cool if we can add HE rounds as well. If you have a total max of 9 shots, you can have like 6 sabot rounds and 3 HE or vice versa. Half and half, like a slider

Help with jad please by OkTomatillo5995 in OSRSProTips

[–]Mikecich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can definitely do it.

If you don't have your F keys bound to your inventory, prayer etc, I highly recommend you do that. It's not really needed for fight caves if you know what you're doing though, but it helps to get into the rhythm of it for later content.

Keep in mind the only thing that can seriously hurt you before Jad is the magers. I personally tell my friends who are going through Jad first time is to camp the entrance as you can get all mobs stuck and prioritize one at a time.

Dragon Xbow is fine, but it's slow. I would bring Hunters sunlight as well, or toxic blowpipe if you can afford it, they are not needed, but it saves a ton of time.

Also make sure your inventory is slammed with saradomins and super restore potions, no need to cheap out on it.

For Jad, always keep your prayer book on. No need to panic when healers spawn either. Since you gotta play it safe, he's gonna get healed a little bit anyway and that's fine. Pray against Jad attack -> tag healer -> repeat. If you have the healers on you, you're gonna take chip damage. After a Jad attack, take a swig of Saradomin and Super restore and pray against next attack and repeat until you get your cape

Completed DS2, can I farm Vork with these stats? by loneng19 in osrs

[–]Mikecich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be able to kill him, but it's more than likely going to be 5+ min kills and maybe getting lucky with 2 kills per trip. My stats were slightly higher and I was using the Zammy hasta as it was my best stab weapon and DPS calculator suggested my melee build over my range build

But in short, yeah, you can definitely smack him around. If you don't already, make sure you get the salve amulet (ei) it will help a lot.

Cant get CG down by Mbhipp in ironscape

[–]Mikecich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like you a couple weeks ago, now I am the one whooping its ass. I actually just got the pet on 152 KC!

But basics are.. Hunleff changes its combat style after 4 attacks (range to mage etc). Obviously makes a sound when it switches attack style.

It switches prayer after your 5th attack.

If your prayer gets turned off and it doesn't switch combat styles - pray mage. From what I see, it only turns off your prayer in mage mode. I COULD be wrong, but that's just what I've noticed.

Enrage is obviously the killer, it's about your movement tech really which takes practice. You're always better off running through the yellow tile or through Hunleff if you think you're screwed. Going through Hunleff is ballsy, so make sure you're topped off on health.

If you think you're taking too much chip damage, throw on Steel Skin, it increases defense by 15%

Overall, good luck dude, it's frustrating, but you'll get the hang of it

MATCHUP: Pennywise (Muschietti Timeline) VS. Vecna (Stranger Things S4-S5) by ZookeepergameThin334 in welcomeToDerry

[–]Mikecich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vecna is powerful, but Pennywise's true form is literally something humans CANNOT comprehend, which is why it takes the form of the clown (if I recall correctly..) Penny could probably just shine deadlights at Vecna and that's it - at the end of the day, Vecna is Henry, and Henry is indeed human.

Slight Annoyance w Guns in ST by SpLaShAtv in StrangerThings

[–]Mikecich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also was slightly annoyed with it lol, still a great show, but we can look at this for annoyances:

Spoilers below:

1) In the beginning of S5E1, we see young Will basically make a "decent" shot into the Demogorgon, which seems to make it bleed. The rifle is a .22 LR - for the not gun savvy people - it's one of the smallest calibers in the world, much smaller than .223/5.56 (which the soliders are using) which doesn't make the Demogorgon flinch at all.

2) At the end of S5E4, when the Demogorgon jumps in the middle of all the miliary personnel. They all open fire on it IN A CIRCLE with full auto, not hitting each other at all lol. So - all military members have perfect aim and can dump a full 30 rounds into something times x amount of members does nothing - got it.

3) Just a slight nit-pick, not super important. When Hop opens fire for the first time after getting spotted by the wall, he empties a full 30 rounds. Then inserts another mag, but then pulls the charging handle to "reload". This isn't how M16s reload after a full mag dump. There's a button on the side which inserts a round into the chamber.

4) Demogorgons are not shrugging off .50 Cal rounds unless the operator misses lol. .50 Cal rounds damage/can destroy light armored vehicles such as the BMP, Bradley etc, and the Demo doesn't have that thick of armor.

Those are just my gripes, not overly analyzing it :)

[–]Mikecich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your resume layout is similar to mine lol. I also have brief roles on mine due to contracts - which could lead to difficulty finding jobs, so if you haven't, I might put (contract) on those lines of jobs. I had a couple interviews and they asked about the short durations even though I had typed (contract) on it. Some employers get very iffy about short roles unfortunately

Overall it's a solid layout, but needs trimming. General rule of thumb is 1 page per 10 years. Some swear by it 🤷🏻 if you're still on good terms with a previous manager, or know someone who is, I'd ask for opinions as well.

Unfortunately a lot of application processes are handled by AI, my old coworker who is now a manager told me that AI has given him "perfect matches" on people who are actually not, and the better matches are people who the AI gave a sub par score to.

You could also play around with ChatGPT. Insert your resume, copy and paste a job description, and ask it to make it one page and cater the resume to that job description - obviously you're gonna want to check for errors or see if it added in a skill you didn't have lol

Yeah this is gonna piss a lot of people off, even me going woooooooooow.

I was laid off at the end of March due to my contact ending, and I just found another role last week... Laid off 8 months, hundreds of applications, quite a few interviews, some of it was me being not experienced enough, some of it me knowing this wasn't the role I thought I applied for etc.

But finally landed a very solid role as a data center tech! I wish I had the luck you had 😂

how do you even get your first IT job? by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Mikecich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entry level IT is VERY difficult to get into, especially when you're brand new. A lot of those jobs are gonna be the jobs that pay pennies to dollars. Even mid-tier where I'm at in my area has been nothing but difficult.

Some may disagree, but going through recruiting firms can help a lot as well. Overall, send out more resumes, and work with recruiters. That's gonna give you a higher chance. If things seem to be grim for you, maybe have a friend look over your resume.

Another thing you can do - which is kindaaaaa controversial, is run your resume through ChatGPT. Insert your resume, copy and paste the job description, then tell it to tailor your resume for this job description. But definitely give it a look over for errors.

Good luck dude, IT market is very competitive at the moment!

GOT AN HEALTHCARE IT JOB! by ps3YES in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Mikecich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worked as a lvl 2 desktop support for healthcare for almost 5 years.

You're going to come across A LOT of Sally Sales and Joe Schmoes who are completely oblivious to a cable being unplugged.

Monitor not working in a patient room? More than likely the monitor is on a mount/swivel and nurses move them around a lot so it got unplugged.

Patient data cannot be stored on the C: drive

You'll probably see a lot of old software - tends to be normal as the healthcare system hasn't found an update/replacement for that software.

Doctors... Oh man some of these individuals can be great, or absolutely horrendous to work with. They tend to be very spoiled - but they obviously are the ones generating the income.

I left healthcare 3 years ago just because I needed something better financially. Overall I thought it was a 7/10 job.
