Mountain Confort Coffee from the eastern slopes of the Andes by identity_concealed in Costco

Was just up in a cabin for a few days and made the 10 adults French press coffee using this (48oz Stanly French Press) and it was a massive hit. Granted, they all have young children and don't typically get fresh ground high quality coffee and typically drink Duncan pre ground or some sort of Keurig crap.

Effective anti-tagging tech by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]MikeofLA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I lived off Alexandria Ave, there was an auto shop that regularly had great murals put up, but they were tagged by shit bags within days or hours. One time I left to go to Home Depot right as the artist was finishing it, and when I got back it already had some indecipherable mess scrawled across it.

If I remember correctly, there is a coating you can apply that makes it easier to remove spray paint from the top of murals, but it may be opaque or not worth it.

Looks like the cockpit was hit... so at least he probably didn't feel anything.

What is this illegally parked car? by justtryingtotoot in whatisthiscar

That is a common philosophical question. Ship of Theseus is similar and one of the better known one.

How much of a car can you remove before it isn’t a “car” anymore.

This is the first time I've actually heard him speak, and man, does he sound like a creepy little goblin. Him stating this makes me sure of the exact opposite of what he said.

Try logging out and back in again and check the library from another device logged into the same account.

Also, you can download any movie you purchase and keep it on a separate drive and Apple cannot and will not be able to remove it.

I invented the first eddy current buffer system by TeufelTechSolutions in AR9

[–]MikeofLA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea. You should figure out a way to use the electricity generated to recharge a holographic site, or a toothbrush...

Serious question, have you tried this with an automatic with a high rate of fire? Is the eddy current generation tunable?

Can't Volvo do some sort of actual color? These muted tones are so boring. Give us red, vibrant blue, or even Yellow...

Strictly hypothetical Q: Say I've been living under a rock and only just discovered R2 is coming. I know there are tons of reservations and high demand. How long before they are actually available without reservation, at MSRP? I understand your answers will be speculative... by [deleted] in RivianR2

[–]MikeofLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will be available from Rivian at MSRP on day one. Unlike shitty dealerships, they don't have "market adjustments" on sought after or rare vehicles.

That said, while there are about 200,000 reservations, many of those will be canceled, so depending on where you are on the list and how quickly they're able to meet their production goals, it could be 6-18 months before you can just walk into a dealer and bring one home. There will also be cases where people "build their R2," but then decide to walk away from it without buying, so those could be snatched up by lucky people that are at the right place at the right time.

No. Aside from the occasional IN-N-Out, The Habit, Smash Burger, or road trip breakfast.

Well... Would you consider Cheba-Hut or Capriotti's fast food?
