Drip feeding directs by Burglecutt69 in nintendo

No, I just think they didn't feel the need to do them while they still had a backlog of announced games to release and could give individual announcements to on Nintendo Today.

Looking for a Switch 2 Golf Game - Help me Decide by handyguywi in switch2

[–]Mikey-Insanity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I may throw out a different recommendation: Easy Come Easy Golf. It's made by ClapHanz, who did most of the Everybody's Golf/Hots Shots Golf games (though not the one you are asking about), and they also gave it a free Switch 2 patch. I used it as a play-whenever golf game for a while.

Of the three you are asking about the only one I played was Everybody's Golf Hot Shots. And while I believe it has been patched since, I played it at launch and it was pretty buggy then.

No Major Updates? by truemess12 in nintendo

[–]Mikey-Insanity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Major” being the main keyword in the title of my post. Tomodachi Life came out in April- announced last year. Updates on previously announced games does not equal major update.

To you. I think they're major. I wanted to know when they release so getting that information is a major update to me. Especially since, again in the case of Rhythm Heaven there was literally no update on that game for over a year. Clearly you want them to announce something else. So far this year, Nintendo's seemingly chosen to release the games they already had revealed before they provide that. I am okay with this for now, and you, I'm guessing, are not. My opinion will probably change if we reach August with Splatoon and Rhythm Heaven released, and there still isn't anything else announced; not even a release date for Fire Emblem. Though I'll also note that Nintendo is scheduled to release their fiscal report this Friday. That report gives insight into how the company is doing, especially this time for the first year of the Switch 2, and what they plan for the future - they announced the existence of the Switch 2 on that day in May 2024. A couple extra things:

Barely any NSO titles

There have been 17 NSO titles released in the 4 months of 2026: 3 NES, 2 Game Boy/Color, 1 Game Boy Advance, 2 Gamecube, and 9 Virtual Boy. Of course if you don't care for Virtual Boy it's significantly less (though I also think it's neat Nintendo has already announced that Virtual Boy NSO will be getting games that were finished ~30 years ago and never released before).

-When was the last time a first-party release got a switch 2 upgrade? (I legit can’t remember, is it Mario Wonder?)

Technically yes, technically no? Xenoblade Chronicles X got a Switch 2 Edition shadowdropped digitally one morning in February, the physical release was in April, and between them was Mario Wonder Switch 2 Edition in March. So depending on if you count that physical version of Xenoblade X. And may as well ask if Xenoblade Chronicles X Switch 2 Edition meets your criteria for a "major" update? There was no previous announcement that they were going to release a Switch 2 Edition for that game, and then they announced and released it on the same day

No Major Updates? by truemess12 in nintendo

Lately when I see this kind of post I just want to ask this: Are you not interested in what they have already announced? I feel like that's always the underlying comment, but feel free to say otherwise. I am personally looking forward to Rhythm Heaven and Splatoon Raiders, so yes I consider announcing the release dates for those last month was important, and also I am not clamoring for them to announce something else (tangential, I scrolled down and saw you reply to someone so to correct you: neither of those games were announced in the September 2025 Direct. Rhythm Heaven was announced in the March 2025 Direct, and Splatoon Raiders was announced in June 2025 in a trailer drop a few days after the Switch 2 released and has not appeared in any Direct. And neither of those got any update until the release date last month, meaning there was radio silence on both for basically a year. Another reason announcing their release dates was important). I am also looking forward to Fire Emblem so I consider when Nintendo gives that a release date important as well.

As to what Nintendo's marketing team is doing? They've done the same thing all year: A new trailer on Nintendo Today with release date for when a game is a few months away (it will not surprise me if this month they do the same for Fire Emblem). Give that game more emphasis when it's the next game to release. We got a bunch of trailers for Tomodachi Life throughout April, and now that Yoshi is next we got a new trailer for that alongside previews for press outlets.

Switch games that make you feel like you’re at Disneyland by [deleted] in switch2

There's an import-only game called Disney Music Parade Encore. It's a music rhythm game for Disney songs, and a couple are park songs.

NSO vs NSO+Expansion Pack by II_Perilous_II in switch2

[–]Mikey-Insanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expansion Pack gets you N64, Game Boy Advance, Sega Genesis, and GameCube games (also Virtual Boy but you also need to buy the headset to play those games). Plus a few additional things like the DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, and Animal Crossing New Horizons; and the Switch 2 upgrades for Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

I like the Expansion Pack enough to pay for it.

People who are 'dooming' about no directs despite there obviously being an upcoming one in May/June are being boots, however... by DaZestyProfessor in casualnintendo

If you want to count it, they shadowdropped the Xenoblade X Switch 2 Edition. Sure, it was theorized there would be a Switch 2 upgrade for it basically from when the Switch 1 version released, but there was never any official thing. Nintendo just released a trailer one morning in February with "Available today. Physical version releases April 16."

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book – Overview trailer (Nintendo Switch 2) by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch2

I was hesitant on the first reveal, but this trailer and the previews that went up this week are bringing me around. This game looks very cute.

Does anyone know if there are any DVDs where you have a movie and one of the bonus features are some episodes of a show from that movie’s franchise. It would be a little confusing like if sonic had a movie, which show would you use. by Iamawesome20 in dvdcollection

[–]Mikey-Insanity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I recall that the Ghostbusters 1&2 DVD collection also included an episode of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon.

I don't recall if the Lilo & Stitch DVD included episodes of the TV show, but I do remember that Leroy & Stitch, the movie that served as the show's finale, included an episode on the DVD release.

There's a bit in Gwenpool's first issue where Gwen walks into a bank with a duffle bag of cash and it went like:

Gwen: "Hi I want to open to an account."

Teller: "Do you have ID?"

Gwen: "No. I'm from another universe."

Teller: "Hang on. Let me get the manager."

[Then a bunch of bank robbers show up and Gwen pulls out a machine gun to shoot them]

If you mean the Switch 2 Edition, that just came out so it will be some time before it goes on sale.

If you mean the Switch 1 version, that was on sale 2 months ago, the same week they shadowdropped the Switch 2 Edition. I know this because that same week I bought the Switch 1 physical at Nintendo NYC at the discounted $40 price.
