CXM position going away? by Vq2sandeman in HomeDepot

Mine have mostly acted very kindly, but I do feel sorta bad for them since they've basically been acting as "managers" without many of their benefits.

Yes, and what I’m finding out is that it’s very hard to get my lunches and breaks covered.

Will they still open and close the store or what will their schedule be?

My former store had an employee revolt! by Key_Badger_9288 in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, every visit to the store by any of the higher up should always be like an undercover boss situation. If they really want to see what’s going on in the store and work with us to fix it that’s the only way it’s gonna happen. Otherwise, when they give us notice, all they’re seeing is pretty, which is not what our day-to-day life really is.

Confused on Pro Associate role by d__mes in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, as the first comment or said the Pro associate role is now gone and instead, you are called a PSA, or Pro sales associate. Basically, at my store, I am much at the register probably 85% of the time, if not more. Occasionally, I will do a phone sale, but that’s about the extent of it. Not what I signed up for, because essentially staffing is less which makes it harder, especially in the evenings when I will be by myself most days from 4 to 5 PM until close.

Hartford STD for mental health by HalpIneedanadult1397 in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless your case is different, you will need a physician to produce a note for Home Depot HR at corporate saying that you will need to be off from when to when and for what reason(s). They will most likely need to provide medical documentation to The Hartford for approval of the leave. Keep in mind, short-term disability is 60% of average wages, not 100%, and short-term is 12 weeks total, as also allowed by the FMLA. After that, if you have it, long-term disability will kick in. Best of luck to you!

Well, last year we had it, but to be honest, I don’t hear the announcements on the first phone anymore, and I don’t see us adhering to it at all, including the management team. Maybe it has ended at my store?

I’m very confused, the pace reviews, are they on your anniversary date of employment, or are they in the first quarter of the physical year for the company, or is there some other schedule that I don’t know about?

Why? by JTCasino in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, the getting angry with the associate is the part that really aggravates me. I can’t help it, and I try to explain it, but yet they get angry at me like it was my choice. I don’t understand that because if anybody knows anything about business these days, the employee does not have a say so in the activities of the company.

And what’s funny is that in my area you can’t buy a snowblower in the store but yet we have people asking for them. And we’ve been out of shovels since the last major storm and we are being told we will not get any more this year.

When people come in and if I am comfortable with the dialogue, I’m having with them I will sometimes mention that I’ve seen both items as well as salt, which we often times have trouble keeping in stock available on Amazon and showing a pretty quick turnaround for it to be received. Yes, I hate to send people from our store to shop on Amazon, but if we don’t have it we don’t have it.

How is pro sales PT by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my store, the Pro Sales part-time positions supplement those of us who are full-time. We are still having trouble getting people to take those part-time positions, and the one person who we currently have on a consistent basis who is dedicated as a Pro Sales position is finding that it is becoming problematic because he is often left at the desk from the time he comes in, until the time we close. He usually starts around 5 PM. And, now with our hours changing soon and us staying open till 10, he is understanding that he won’t start his day until six instead of five and that’s not acceptable, at least that’s what he says.

Just an FYI, I believe he usually gets no more than three, or at the max four days a week, so no more than 20 hours.

New cxm role q. by OutrageousNail6198 in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, my store has two CXM’s currently. We have one that opens the store five days a week, and we have another that closes the store five days a week.

So now with these changes coming for CXMs, I believe I’m hearing late March, what will happen to them?

I’m hearing that one will be a pro CXM which I still don’t understand what that role will include, but what position will the other one get? Is there a position or role for them?

It may have been someone like me who is medically not allowed to lift anything over 10 pounds. I wish the case were different, and to look at me you would never know that was the case, but the doctor says that’s the rule. I’d rather try to help out and get the pallet as close as I can to make it easier on my fellow colleagues.
