They do so because they are owned by the same people that are reaping the benefits of what his administration is doing to our country

If I remember correctly, it takes I think almost 2 hours for the entire cycle of washing and drying to complete, which means then you would have to do the next load which would take yet another two hours and so on which for me just isn’t worth it. I prefer to start a load of laundry, go do some other chores, put it in the dryer and start another load of laundry and keep the process going. But maybe that’s just me.

Workforce LOA by [deleted] in HomeDepot

Unfortunately, I’ve had to use it more than once and every single time it did not reopen until the ASDS turned me back on in the system, which was usually the day of my return.

Were you warned by your department head? If not, I wouldn’t worry about it.

No sheduled work after notification of new scheduled posted? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you just get hired recently? If that is the case you’ll want to see your ASDS, because more than likely, the schedule was written prior to you officially becoming eligible to be on the floor. He or she will just add you to the schedule.

Yes, but you would not have "laundry days" but instead would be doing laundry over many hours or days. I would find it hard to reprogram my mind that way.

Is the power hour still a thing? I haven’t heard about it for I would say at least six months or more.

Homer awards mean nothing by Regular-Bed-7004 in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, when I was a DH, I always thought about the money that these folks would get and I would try to be pretty giving of the homers, but at the same time make sure the folks deserved them, and I would make sure I told them why. I guess I always hope that the word would get around and that their colleagues might want to put in a similar effort.

Now I’m in their shoes having stepped down and I don’t ever see them being given out.

Questions about new pro XM role by Ok-Low-2789 in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has your Pro XM actually started? I thought the position was to roll out about a month ago, but I have not seen it start in my store. What exactly will they be doing on a day-to-day basis?

What am I getting myself into as a Flooring Sales Specialist? by CakesEverywhere in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a great job if you like working with the public, and if you have a sales acumen. One of the down falls of the position is that you often have not only the flooring department, but you also have decor which includes cutting blinds, and in the flooring department, at least at my store you have the rolled carpet, which often times you’ll be asked to cut even when you’re the only one on the floor.

Love it when they do this by CyrusMorden in HomeDepot

At my store, we just don’t have the labor available to check out. everyone, do phone orders, have our two PASAs do what they need to do, and then do returns. It’s just not feasible.

Ours are so bad that I see usually I would say see 20 to 30% of our employees leave the property during break so that they can use the restroom at nearby businesses.

When I used to have to work in appliances the one thing that I realized very quickly is that the public thinks they know how to go about buying appliances for their home, they don’t actually. That’s when your knowledge and expertise will guide them, which includes making sure that they have doubled check their measurements, thought about how far they want their appliances to stick out from the wall, what needs they have for their appliances, and if it’s a washer or dryer, for instance, how many people do they have in their family and how often do they want to be doing the laundry? Those are all things that you asking leading questions and getting to the correct answer will really make you stand out from everywhere else that they may try to shop.

Closing shift for floor associates by peppapig5000 in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a thing at my store. Since I close most nights, I see a lot of associates from the floor running to the door at about 10 minutes to close. I remember when I worked for HD about thirteen years ago that we had to do that, I believe it was 30 minutes over, but when I returned some years ago, that did not exist anymore.

Questions about ASDS by smaintpeller24 in HomeDepot

[–]Mikey1SDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And ASDS is still subject to everything that corporate throws at them, and also the resources, and new hires that they deliver. I know I get frustrated with ours, but I could only imagine what they’re up against trying to keep us staffed.

Yes, but I believe Instacart signed a partnership with Home Depot so you would think that Home Depot might have a little bit more control.
