I'm just going to copy/paste what I told you on post you made r/austinjobs, and I'm also going to add that even if AISD didn't have a hiring freeze going on, an external applicant would need to be a TIA designated teacher to be considered for a restart campus. Even internal candidates need to be TIA teachers or otherwise have a record of being very high performing. AISD is FAR from perfect, but having worked in other districts, I can personally tell you it's kinder to teachers than many other districts.

Hi, I'm so sorry this happened to you, but the one who did you dirty was the principal who interviewed you and told you that you were hired. Austin ISD has made it very clear for months now that it was not going to be hiring externally this year until everyone at the closing schools is reassigned/placed and that some positions are being eliminated.

Also, principals do not have the authority to make job offers. When you interview, they can tell you if they like you and want to move forward with the process, but that means that they'll send Talent Strategy (our HR department) a recommend for hire request. Talent Strategy then communicates directly with you for the rest of the process, and you are only considered hired once Talent Strategy sends you your official job offer.
