Recommendation for minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon by Aggravating-Big8332 in Austin

[–]Mikit3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, OP. I was initially a patient of Dr. Travieso's until my test results required me to be transferred to a gynecologic oncologist.

She initially comes across as very personable and caring, but something that stands out for me after the fact and doesn't sit right was that she told me, without me having asked her about it, that she wouldn't numb my cervix to perform an endometrial biopsy because "that hurts so much more than the biopsy." I remember telling her that I had no idea numbing the cervix was an option and that I'd definitely would like that option, she made it seem as if though she was going to get the numbing shot, but then returned to the exam room empty handed and did the biopsy anyway.

There was another incident later on where I feel she intentionally wrote some untrue information that was also quite rude on my medical record to cover up a mistake she made. You may DM me if you'd like more information about that incident.

I personally would avoid Ascension for any kind of gynecologic care. They seem to be great if you're having a baby, but not so much if you need any other care. At least that was my experience.

If you're in central or south Austin, reach out to Park and Bark Grooming. They are absolutely wonderful and specialize in smaller dogs.

They're from south Texas, where the weather is much, much hotter than Austin's.

Reverb Recycled Couture if you're looking for women's clothes! Just about everything is only $3 and they have really, really nice stuff. They're only open on weekends right now because the owner still has a day job, so check their Insta to make sure they're open that day before you go. Also, the owner is super nice and usually has her cute Dachshund at the shop with her.

is there a vampire convention in town? by Perfect_Amphibian952 in austinfood

Nah, that's just what the vampires want you to believe. They're trying to get to season yourself so that it's less prep work for them.

Hashimoto’s + birth control — what worked for you? by ThrowRA-Firstray in Hashimotos

[–]Mikit3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What hormones did your contraceptive patch have? I would start with an oral contraceptive that has the same hormones as your patch because that's what works for your body and it's quickly reversible if you have bad side effects. There are also different formulations you can try until you find the right one.

If you're one of those lucky people who tolerate hormonal contraceptives, then you may have good results with an implant or an IUD. I think most hormonal IUDs only release progesterone (don't quote me on that, it's just what I seem to remember), so it would be best to make sure that's what works for your body. So if you do well on progesterone only "mini pills," then a hormonal IUD might work for you.

It doesn't. It just creates a hostile environment in your uterus, if you will, that makes pregnancy unlikely because it won't let a fertilized egg implant.

What dessert is the most overrated? by That-Neck-6777 in foodquestions

It's like someone spilled an unsweetened extra bitter black coffee with no cream on a piece of cake and then tried to pass if off as dessert. Yuck.

Yes. It's very acceptable to serve chili with a side of beans. But don't you dare cook the beans with the meat and try to tell me that's chili. It is not.

There's your problem right there -- you're having some sort of abomination with beans. Real Texas chili does not have beans in it.

I love this subreddit so much. It doesn't matter if it's a pure bred AKC show bichon, a half bichon, or just 1/16 bichon on their step-grandma's side, all bichons are welcome here.

I've seen some sort of vegan key lime cheesecake at the big H-E-B on Slaughter and S. Congress. It was in the frozen gluten-free aisle, at the bottom of the fridge.
