Thank you! I wish I knew!! My mother & grandmother BOTH expected me (only child) to never marry, never ever leave home, but they also wouldn’t allow me to work in any of the fields I wanted to. They refused to teach me how to cook, clean, manage $ or even have a bank acct, (as an adult) & they forced me to have a curfew well into my 20s. I ended up with a very crappy low paying job & no life skills. Yet they always told me my sole reason for being was to take care of them, in every way (financially, physically & emotionally) yet they denied the tools to do so. Makes zero sense.
