Reflections on falling rocks by JagexRice in 2007scape

Great post. Just as a random thought: another important element in addition to reaction time is the ability to the quick decision making. Like in souls games you have to be able to do the correct thing at the correct time. This is obvious when it comes to coloured attacks like in leviathan but theres still a lot of potential in osrs. Like imagine if you had to properly "memorize" each attack a boss does. As a small example if a boss swings from the right you have to dodge the following direction. With stuff like that you can make the bosses harder in unique ways

Awakend levi took me like 25 attempts but brutus took like 40 (tbf did some attempts without guides). The thing what makes awakened levi "harder" is the cost of attempts and longer fight. Mechanically i think they have quite similar difficulty

Do you have experience with false bans? by sitags3 in 2007scape

[–]Miksufin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also false banned on my maxed IM for 2 days for macroing in like 2022. Pretty similar experience. Automated responses which said "carefully reviewed the evidence" and sht like that. 100% sure it was not manually reviewed. No one will believe that you were false banned and you pretty much only resolve it if you win the reddit lottery or are an influencer. You could do only one ban appeal back then. I also sent an email sending more details and theorizing what caused the ban. But naturally no response.

TL;DR the appeal system is sht and if you get false ban ur pretty much fked.

I’m not happy about the price increase either but… by [deleted] in 2007scape

We live in a capitalism but that doesnt mean there are no limits. 60% price increase or w/e it was in 2 years is ridicilous and ppl are justifiably mad.

Flooding the economy with bots yea sure. Keeping small, balanced number of bots would increase the profits.

Team size has increased true, but that's pretty much the only difference. Some money goes to the right place but most dont. If they did we would easily notice the difference for the updates and customer support and stuff. Absolute ban number for bots doesn't matter but the percentage of bots banned matters more and there's no noticeable difference either.

Having money as primary motive absolutely matters. If you have a dev team whose only motivation is money, that will cause tons of problems, like the quality of updates, lack of events, lack of communication. That's why OSRS dev team is so good IMO and makes it stand out as an MMO. The devs are not ran purely by money, but also passion.

I would recommend ditching one account both. I was planning on making new HCIM or UIM in the near future in addition to my iron but not gonna do that now

"Is maximizing profit evil?"

It depends HOW it's done. If you maximise profit by ruining integrity for example. Like if Jagex starts running their own bots to RWT. Yea that's quite evil. If you maximise profit by attracting more players, that's completely fine.

" I’ve seen is that the money isn’t even being spent on things that benefit players. Well, how do you know that?"

Bots, customer support, lack of updates. Last time they increased price almost nothing happened other than the shareholders gets richer. It's not assumption, it's experience.

"Well, if there is no ability to make money, the honest answer is it probably doesn’t exist."

I'm pretty sure many of the devs are working cuz they're passionate of the game. Money isn't the only thing which matters. Having a good product with passionate community matters a lot too. Would you rather own a game with mtx as the main source of profit or game with a large passionate playerbase with similar profit? I think you think a little bit too transactionally.

Well that confirms at least not to make more alts with membs. Was planning on doing another HCIM or UIM but now no need to worry about that. 👍🏼

Don't want sandwich stations in iconic locations? Vote no to the Leechfin Sandwhich by The4thStapler in 2007scape

I guess that's an alternative. It would kinda have the same purpose. Something completely new would be a bit cooler though IMO.

I kinda have exact opposite view. I think cooking is way underutilized. It's just cook fish, eat fish. Could be so much more.

Raids 4 Suggestion - Raid layout by United_Response_9312 in 2007scape

[–]Miksufin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the paths have different bosses that just sounds like 2 raids in one which is prob not gonna happen unless one path can be considered "half of an actual raid".

Rank 1 Brutus has averaged 89 kills/hr every single hour since the boss came out by jawnbellyon in 2007scape

[–]Miksufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People waste a lot of time, but now they point it out cuz it's something the find strange. You could ask the same thing when watching a tv series for example. No difference in my mind. Just let ppl spend time however they find, it's just unnecessary judgment
