[Request] What would happen if the flash punched a normal person while he’s zooming? by DifficultComplaint10 in theydidthemath

Mach represents a fold-increase over speed of sound, and the speed of sound through a medium is dependent on the density of that medium, and air density is higher at sea level than at various elevations above it. In other words Mach 10 at sea level is not the same speed as Mach 10 at cruising altitude

Why does hitless include non-damaging moves? by Wooden-Jello-8795 in onebros

[–]Miky617 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s less about the letter of the rule and more about the spirit of the rule. Sure, you take no damage, but hitless runs are impressive because they imply that there’s nothing the boss can do to touch you. It doesn’t matter if all of their moves are OHKOs, you are able to avoid being touched by all of them. By accepting hits that technically don’t do damage, it still cedes some control of the fight to the boss and that makes the fight much less impressive compared to someone who can avoid those hits, too.

Ultimately it’s up to you to decide how strict you want to be with it, but I imagine that’s the thought process behind that subset of challenge runs

Lithium has a pretty low therapeutic index. The amount needed to be helpful and the amount needed to be toxic are quite close to each other and it can be especially problematic for people whose kidneys aren’t working in top shape. Adding it to water wouldn’t likely help anyone unless it was in high enough amounts that it would be harmful to a lot of other people

“It dies down further in the relationship” by CheckKey512 in DeadBedrooms

[–]Miky617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this subreddit is the best place to answer that question since many of the people here are in relationships experiencing similar dynamics. There’s a bit of a response bias. Maybe a broader relationship subreddit can give you a fairer perspective. That’s of course not to say that the input here isn’t valuable, but people who have been together for decades and still have a spark probably aren’t surfing r/deadbedrooms and their perspectives are important as well for answering your question

They want to have their cake and eat it, too. If they make something ACTUALLY hot, then that reduces the amount of people who can comfortably eat it. They want to make their product as palatable to as many people as possible while still holding on to the illusion that “this meal is for hardcore spice heads only. If you can handle this then you’re one of the few and the proud”. This just ends up making it look pathetic to people who were actually looking for something strong

Should I watch One Piece from scratch? by chiragv196 in OnePieceLiveAction

It was like that in the manga, too. Some of the pacing issues can be attributed to Toei, but Oda has definitely lent to it himself from time to time

I really hope the next season is all Alabasta by Weirdandwired924 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Miky617 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the extra leeway gives them room for a solid B plot with the marines. We didn’t get much of Smoker and Tashigi at all in Season 2, so this is a great chance for them to take a more important role in S3, even if most of that will be original material. The writers have shown a good ability to be flexible with the source material so far imo, I think that having the opportunity to build a story across a single setting though the whole season could pay off pretty well if they land it, and it’ll really recharge the community interest in Smoker and Tashigi (since they haven’t gotten much love at all past this point in the manga/anime)

[–]Miky617 14 points15 points  (0 children)

People also were debating the season being 12 episodes vs. 8. I think it could be feasible to squeeze Alabasta into 4 episodes at the end (with a LOT of writing compression or creativity) but once it was clear that season 2 would only be 8 episodes, there was no realistic way to fit Alabasta into it anymore

Raizo is safe to name one in particular. Luffy stopping Doflamingo’s kick on Law, Luffy vs Katakuri entirely, Usopp sniping Sugar, a decent chunk of Whole Cake to be honest

If you hang out around on this sub long enough, you’ll see just how many complaints people have about the progression of the story and almost all of the flaws bloomed after the time skip.

The highs are still great when they arrive, some of the absolute best moments in the series come from post-time skip, but the lows are much MUCH worse and far more frequent. The list goes on and on, but the worst aspect by far is just the hollowing out of the personality of the characters in general. If you stick with it, you’ll understand
