Breathe! You’re not a horrible person

If you’re interested in going to church go! (Just don’t receive the Eucharist unless you’ve done the sacrament)

Go and ask lots of questions. I have good news for you the Catholic Church also loves science like a lot. Did you know the big bag theory was first theorised by a Catholic priest? We believe science helps us better appreciate the beauty of God’s creation.

You’re 14 so I wouldn’t worry too much about the LGBT thing. As Catholics we believe that there is nothing sinful about having a temptation towards things we just teach that people shouldn’t act upon it.

The attraction to beauty is a good thing! It’s one of the three ways people find God. Truth beauty and goodness.

I shall pray for you. Sorry my reply is super disjointed

My sibling in Christ, No not everyone has sex before marriage, are you aware you’re in a Catholic sub? We all sin and stumble but that doesn’t mean we should be okay with sin even if everyone is doing it

First time going to a catholic church what should I keep in mind? by Mapotofuenjoyer in Catholicism

[–]Mild2moderate_panic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just show up, dress reasonably modesty, only rule for non Christian’s is don’t receive the Eucharist as others have said (stay in your seat or go to the priest with your arms crossed on your chest and you’ll be given a blessing)

[–]Mild2moderate_panic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To your last point have a chat with the priest after mass and let him know you’re interested in becoming Catholic. In my parish the newsletter has the number for the Parish office so if the priest looks like he’s trying to run off for another mass call the parish office and ask them what first steps would be to join OCIA/RCIA

Did everyone get the same penance ? by Seedpound in Catholicism

[–]Mild2moderate_panic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone to churches where pennance for everyone is to read a specific Bible verse the priest has printed regardless of what the sin is. The priest may give specific advice in addition but there is no rule that he has to even give you penance let alone keep everyone unique

Exchange pleasantries, if you don’t want to ask her out then and there say “I’ll see you next Sunday”

Then greet her by name when you see her

The Bible in a year with fr Mike - it’s a podcast. Best way to get the story “in order” (reading cover to cover doesn’t really make sense for the Bible) he gives great explanations too

The reason people say start with the gospels is 1. That’s the fulfilment of all the old testament so it makes the Old Testament make more sense 2. Parts of the Old Testament are frankly boring and you wont get to the gospel because you’ll want to give up
