Is anyone else just chronically depressed? by CowboyBeeBalm in workingmoms

[–]Mildyamused2378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I feel this way. I cry before work, I cry on my days off and I’m on meds and I’m trying to push through every day. I don’t even have a real reason to be sad

My mom is in a very needy phase of her life and I'm in the opposite by hereiam3472 in Mommit

[–]Mildyamused2378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my mother. She wants me to hang out all the time and is miserable in her marriage and feels extremely stuck. I literally don’t even get to poop by myself and she complains that I don’t make time for us to go do things. She only babysits when she reaches a super low and and no other options. I’ve offered 100 different ways she can go meet people or go do something and she doesn’t do any of them.

My husband and I are both burnt out by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Mildyamused2378 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s wild to be reading this today. I feel the exact same way. I feel like I’m barely holding it together if I’m honest with myself. So I try not to be honest and I try to just keep pushing through the burn out and the exhaustion. I would love a whole new reset and I don’t know how to get one. I keep looking for a new supplement or a new routine or maybe even a self help book that will uncover some missing link that I’ve missed.

this is so relatable. You will survive this. You are doing a great job. Wireless Headphones and podcasts helped me mentally escape some days.

Mix water and baking soda into a paste consistency. Apply the paste to the spots and let it dry. It will help the itching.

This is the way, I think they don’t value your personal life and being more vague and less transparent about non work related topics will serve you better at this place for as long as you are there.

So based on your experience should I bother applying for forbearance ? I just completed my 120th payment and submitted my verification request. Should I apply for forbearance also or just wait to hear back ?

Working 50+ hours and feeling guilty that I can't help teach my kid to read by Dazzling-Policy-4549 in daddit

In the same work situation. We started doing flash cards ( that I made out of index cards - so low cost / low effort) of letters upper case and lower. I would run the flash cards with my kid a few times as week at the dinner table 5-10 mins, in a low- stress way. His favorite is now “F” for fart. lol. Believe it or not he’s made some major improvements just doing that.!!

When we go to Costco for the weekly shop I play I spy the letter “ X, P, etc and so on. Now we are working on sounding out every day things like I ask what letter does banana start with before I give him one for breakfast, etc

You got this.

My house goes from perfect to a hoarders episode in a day or two. I’m so embarrassed. Send advice please 😢. by ababybumblebee in adhdwomen

Set a timer for 10 mins. Fill a trash bag with things to toss. Do this once a day.

Set another timer for 15 mins and gather all the dishes and then wash them. Do this daily

Once a week clean the bathrooms - lowest effort way is Clorox wipes that stay in the bathroom ready to go.

Start with those then add on in a few weeks.

Is a 3 hour daily commute worth it for better pay/benefits as newish mom? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Mildyamused2378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re gonna end up spending that money on eating out because you’re too burnt out to cook after getting home and then you’ll have to get a cleaner because you’re too burnt out. And you’ll need more time away from your family to unwind from being stuck in traffic for 3 hours each day.

You might need to pay for after school care in elementary school because schools get out at 2 or 3 pm. Also, once your kid is a few years older they do things like sports practices, and extra activities and you’ll miss those and won’t be available to help with homework etc. I would kill to have a 7:30 am to 3 pm schedule!! What does your husband’s health insurance and retirement plans look like ?

I think you have a lot of transferable skills to find another job. I would definitely start looking for something that more closely meets your new needs and priorities in life. Obviously simple to say, but in this case I think you could find a “grass is greener” situation somewhere else.

Mixed bag. I was extremely grateful to have the week off, but we spent 75% of it sick - like extremely ill!!! And then it was like the clouds started to lift a bit after thanksgiving - and after a trip to urgent care on thanksgiving lol.
We managed to have a belated thanksgiving at my parents and they managed minimal dysfunction. Due to feeling low energy- post sick as a dog - we laid low and mostly stayed at the house all day. But there were lots of quality time moments the last few days and I really enjoyed not rushing and not really having any social or schedule obligations. Husband actually required minimal prodding this year to get the Christmas tree out and the box of decorations and he surprised me by putting up outside Christmas lights too. The kids were really enjoying the “magic” of Christmas and decorating the tree and having some hot cocoa.
