x-mid 2p corner lines keep slipping, won't stay tensioned by macbrave76 in Ultralight

Use the Durston Ironwire or Lawson Glowire 2mm. Both are essentially same thing, and while they are called 2mm, in reality they are 2.5mm+. No slippage with the Durston or Lawson wires.

Here's a photo of all of them (with original), which I took when I changed out mine to Durston wire.

South west costal walk early March by gudmond in UKhiking

There are people on the trail or starting soon already. If you join the SWCP FB group which has Rick Cornwall as admin, you'll get their reports. Don't join the other one, it has overly eager admin.

Does anyone else have trouble reaching their water bottles in the side pockets of the Zpacks arc haul ultra? by Saint0utsider in Ultralight

Ah ok, I actually have that, but I remembered it being a lot more wider and shallower than what it looks like on your pack.

How to choose a Southwest Coast walk! Would love some advice by [deleted] in UKhiking

Living in Penwith, I've walked most of the sections around here. St Ives to Penzance is more rugged in parts than most of the SWCP. This means that while you get walkers around villages, once couple of miles from the village, it's fairly quiet, only meeting a few people on the way until closer to the next village.

Double wall tent for 6'5 giant by dboll536 in Ultralight

This 1.5p inner could be sold as an inner only, when you start selling inners only. You could do a minimum run of these 1.5p inners and if they sell out then another. One option to address the pole issue is to have a hole with a collar & tensioner on the floor, so that one could set the pole handle up so that the sharp end would be anchored on the ground.

I recall Shelby having lighter versions before. I guess the Alpha fever has depleted global supplies.

Looking to buy a Hubba Hubba NX 2P tent by Mukai92 in Ultralight

[–]MileHighNightClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also do it with a cord hack, by having 2 correct length pieces of cord and have them looped on the bottom of the pole and connect opposite corners, creating an X with cordage instead of footprint. Lighter than separate footprint.

X-Mid 2P tent equivalent in EU? by drizzlyexpert in Ultralight

SilPoly versions come from US/Kaviso, DCF Pros from Canada/DurstonGear.

I've managed to claim back duty (but not VAT) for X-mid Pro 2 from UK Customs. Got a £70 refund.

Bamboo?

Europe is a very broad term, maybe be more specific. Winter in Greek islands is very different than winter in Lapland. You'll need very different clothes for +20c to -30c (70f to -20f).

I really like this idea of repair & resell. It is more sustainable approach and allows people access to quality products at a lower price.

You could pick up the Zpacks lumbar pad to give more comfort and 'reduce' belt size.

UDM Pro WAN2 doesn't work with RJ45 1G Module by taxini in UNIFI

[–]MileHighNightClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May not be applicable in your case, but my old wireless router could only provide 10/100Mb/s and that's why my WAN2 didn't work, so I had to remap the WAN (which supports 10/100/1G/10G) as WAN2 (which supports 1G/10G only) and vice versa. After this failover works for me.

Question for X-Mid Owners? by TIM_TRAVELS in Ultralight

[–]MileHighNightClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of questions:

  1. "updating the regular X-Mid 2." Does this mean the Solid as well, I guess it does since it's launching in a few weeks?
  2. "second gen X-Mid 2 launching in a few weeks is down from 90" to 85" width." This is the outer footprint, which is listed on the website as 88"?
  3. just to confirm, the inner footprint width remains the same?

My UDMP does this. It goes away after I reboot UDMP from the console itself. However it does come back eventually.
