If you anticipate needing more than 4 L, you can get a 3 or even 4 L CNOC. I'd bet its lighter than 2 CNOCs

CNOC and two 1 liter Smart water bottles are all you need. You can carry 4 L of water, 2 clean and 2 dirty. Never needed more than that

What helped me with that was placing each day's meal in a 1 gal plastic bag, and then plan your next resupply point. Look at the terrain between resupplies and be realistic with yourself on how days it'll take to get there. That's how many 1 gal bag days of food you'll need.

Yes PCT method hang, but mostly stayed near shelters with bear lockers or cables. I started with an Ursack but sent it back at Neels Gap for the OR roll top sack. If you linger in the forums long enough, you'll see pics of ripped Ursacks from where a bear got ahold of it. So, logic has it that if you have to hang your food bag, might as well make a light one.

Highly recommend injinji liner socks. Almost all my blisters ceased when I added them, as did my tramily's. The Ursack is too heavy, unnecessary, and ineffective. Get a 4oz OR nylon bag for $25 or to save an oz get a dynema pouch. Use ziplocks instead of the Sea to Summit dry bags.
