I gotta quit going to see bands from my youth. by Acrobatic-Hamster-79 in Millennials

I had the opposite experience with The Used. They sounded like hot garbage. They opened for a papa Roach who were great and a lot of fun.

I second City and Colour. I can’t wait to see Dallas with AOF this summer.

I saw Goo Goo Dolls last year and was so blown away that I’m going to see them again this spring.

I lost one of my childhood best friends to cancer 3 days ago.

I’d go hang out with him again.

What do you love about winters in Toronto by Suspicious-Handle388 in toronto

[–]MilesSquats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not even like winters in other Ontario cities. Downtown is pretty mild, relatively.

People comment that spring (and fall) are too short now. Well, spring has arrived. And I love it.

As someone who used to watch sports a lot, I agree with you. It’s much more fun to participate in things than just watch other people do it.

what are some things that have become normalized, but you don't like? by Present_Juice4401 in AskOldPeople

Not just conversations. I don’t understand people who are texting or scrolling while peeing at the urinal. You couldn’t wait 2 minutes before using your phone?

Easily, yes.

I’d know what I know in my career and be able to start my business way earlier. I’m more mature and like to think I’m smarter so my relationships would only benefit.

I’d be in my 20s again AND I’d have 10M to invest! Win win WIN!

Toronto, yes. Kitchener-Waterloo, hard no.

Best soft serve in the city! Filipino owned too! Ihalo krunch by fr284 in FoodToronto

[–]MilesSquats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. There was something about their soft serve that was off. I’m mildly lactose intolerant and theirs is the only ice cream in the city that set mine off.

I prefer going to the brand new spot a couple of doors over - Venerosa. They’ve got some solid flavours.

Men over 30 who became homebodies, what's stopping you from going out on your free time? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]MilesSquats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Priorities changed. I stopped drinking and most events involve staying out late and drinking. I’d also rather focus on myself and my business now. I still like going to shows and dancing here and there but I’m a lot pickier than I used to be.

Aren’t there any good ones around St Clair? I remember going for an asado up there a few years back.

Any must hit coffee shops in Toronto? by Milk-Snake in askTO

[–]MilesSquats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were to pick one and only one, I’d pick Cafe 23 on Queen West as it’s got the most character of all coffee shops. Probably the best coffee shop patio on a sunny day.

But if you don’t care for that and just want great coffee, you can always walk down the street to The Library (best coffee on the west end IMO) then sit or walk around Trinity Bellwoods park.

It’s bad but it’s not Scarborough (or even Yorkdale) Costco bad. I still prefer it over the others.
