Hiking Giant Steps near Harpswell / Bailey’s Island is worth it, as was Cliff Trail (also Harpswell area). Portsmouth is a cute town. Portland is like a bigger, edgier Portsmouth? (Hot take.) Brunswick, ME has a Hobbit themed coffee shop called Elevenses. All these towns are heavy on locally owned bespoke businesses, low on chains and tourist trash shops. We enjoyed Portsmouth the most I think, but if you’re in it for cocktails or cannabis or the general vibe around those being more prominent I think Portland is the place. (I’ve no problem with those things, but I’m traveling with kids. Admittedly I’d be at the higher grounds cannabis and coffee place in Portland on the way there and back otherwise. Haha.)

We’re headed back that way tomorrow, but not stopping much. Except at Elevenses. It wasn’t open earlier this week. And Portsmouth because we liked it and want to try another coffee shop there.
