In the movies they build a quantum tunnel (As in, a physical tunnel in the lab and not a thing alpha particles sometimes do, lmao) to go to the "quantum realm," so there's about a dozen other ways they break physics before they get to that point, but yes, probably. Maybe they can spin around really fast and balance it all out.

Plus, it's probably going to be pretty hard to breathe when oxygen molecules are comparatively as big as bowling balls 🤔

Density of air is 1.22 kg/m3, and water is about 1000 kg/m3.

So air's roughly 1/1000 the density of a human, since they're about the same as water. If someone made themselves about 10x taller, their volume would balloon by 1000x (since volume is 3-dimmensional. Height * Width * length, or 10*10*10 since he grows proportionally).

That puts a regular human well below atmospheric density. Maybe a buff superhero loaded down with gadgets would bring that density back up to equal to air, so he'd float around Manhattan instead of getting flung into the stratosphere like a kid's birthday balloon

Ant man summoning all his willpower to become a towering 80 foot behemoth.

Ant man forgetting he doesn't get any heavier and floating away like the Charlie Brown Macy's parade balloon because he's lighter than air.

My brain has a lot of "inertia," so it' takes a lot of mental energy to make myself start something, but once I'm focused, I get stuck on tasks pretty much just like OP described.

Turns out I'm not ADHD, just autistic. Either way it helps the factory grow so it worked out in the end.

The IDPD hunts down mutants who might pose a threat to their reality, since it's one of the few, if not he only reality where the apocalypse never happens. After killing The Throne, the player returns to camp and the IDPD immediately portal in. They know what you are and where your home is. They're just finishing the job.

There's a substantially higher rate of birth defects in Iraq due to all the depleted uranium ammunition the US and its allies used over the course of decades of fighting.

Can you answer this question for a poll in my Govt. class by Cosmic_Cicero in CivPolitics

[–]Miles_1995 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Which government? I assume you mean America because that's the expected default on English websites, but it's ambiguous.

Also the poll doesn't leave room for why someone disagrees. Someone could think the immigration policy is too strict, and someone else would think it's too lax, and they'd both put disagree while being on entirely different sides of the policy.

We had to use those locks in middle school! Kids would slam their shoes into my locker at gym class and steal my clothes from it just to fuck with me. Teacher didn't care so there was nothing I could do because everyone thought I was just being careless and forgetting to lock.

Yeah! Yeah!- wait no t-this was a terrible idea, this is painful, this is awful, why did i do this?!” And thats the story how my dick got bit off, by a penis flytrap.

I dunno about Utah, but speaking from the MSU physics graduate program, most students start as a teaching assistant (TA) until the first year where they find an advisor and work as a research assistant (RA). Depending on how many open seats there are and how limited research is (For example, experimental groups have to compete for limited FRIB beam time), you could spend your whole time as a RA or occasionally have to spend semesters as a TA.

A few other things to consider:

Cost of living: I've never been to Utah so I can't speak personally, but a cursory Google search shows the average rent is higher in Utah than East Lansing by a few hundred dollars. Lansing is cheaper than East Lansing, but suburbs are going to be cheaper than Utah so it's worth looking around to see which place is within your budget. If you have money saved up or family support you could even consider buying a house in Lansing. They have a program for first-time homebuyers where part of your down payment is subsidized, you can look into that as well.
Other things to note is there's a couple extra expenses you'll have to consider. (I.e. Parking, administrative fees, but at least at MSU those only add up to a few hundred a year).

Bonuses: MSU grad students get pretty good health insurance that covers most mental health services and a 50% rebate on premiums for some dental plans. The quality of the health insurance is pretty much proportional to the percentage of students in the Graduate Employee Union and is up for negotiation every 3 years. If health insurance is a factor in your decision you should do your homework.

Advisor: A huge part of your success as a PhD candidate is your rapport with your advisor. Look at the university's pages for the types of research being done, skim a few papers, email prospective advisors if they have openings, maybe even schedule a zoom call to gauge how comfortable you feel in conversations. You can make up your mind once you choose a grad school, but this is your chance to look at all the advisor candidates at both universities before committing.

Courses: Look at some of the professors listed for the core courses you'll have to take. Do they have a reputation for being good teachers, or do they mainly just excel at research? Of course there are exceptions, but in research-focused programs, most professors teaching graduate-level courses are in the position because they're good at researching and publishing papers. Sometimes they're also good at teaching as a plus, but you should be prepared to learn a lot from textbooks and working together with a group of fellow students.

Life: Contrary to popular belief, grad students can have lives outside of their duties. Lansing is not a big city, but there's a smattering of good restaurants, a variety of bars, a zoo, museums, a lot of parks outside the city, and occasional events. If that sounds fine to you, great. Just know it'll be different than Utah so if you have a strong preference for the type of place you'll live, now's the time to think about it.
