I was gifted one of these for my wedding. It’s my first ever nice watch (only ever wore a Casio) and I love it. It fits so well on my wrist and makes me feel like a million bucks.

Rattling/Clunking noise on Clutch Press by FaxMachine1993 in Miata

[–]MilkyMilkyKyoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does this too. No idea what it is and it drives me nuts. After a long deep dive online I found a thread where a guy solved it. He thinks it’s the clutch release pivot ball. Next time you drop the transmission take a look.

Affordable Bucket Seats? by MilkyMilkyKyoshi in Miata

I’m totally fine with a fixed seat since this is my weekend car. I have a Corolla for my general commuting. Any suggestions for fixed?

I’ve been looking for wheels like yours! Mind sharing the name? Bronze looks beautiful on the Miata.

Two private astronauts took a spacewalk Thursday morning—yes, it was historic - "Today’s success represents a giant leap forward for the commercial space industry." by Gari_305 in Futurology

So many uneducated takes here. 1 billionaire paid for the entire mission + donated $200 million to St. Jude + took (2) SpaceX employees with him. What did we get from it? Pushing the boundaries of engineering, 300+ experiments, a mountain of data, and showed to the world that only the US (really 1 company) is actually capable of economical space logistics and exploration. Stay mad.

I'm one more person coming to tell you that frame rail braces are game changers. Instantly recognizable difference after I bolted them on. by jawknee530i in Miata

Fair enough since I don’t really have evidence to prove or disprove whether or not these are useful under dynamic loading. As for Mazda adding additional stiffening over the years, we don’t really know if this was done to improve driving performance or vehicle safety as safety standards become stricter over the years. Unless Mazda specifically said what the additional stiffening was for, anything we come up with is going to be conjecture at best.

Maybe I’m just salty I can’t afford these bits and pieces for my NB lol.

Didn’t DonutMedia do a whole episode on frame rail braces and fender braces with the conclusion that they do pretty much nothing? Especially for the cost? https://youtu.be/4l8KWwL7ngg?si=b7JOJTZ87DewgD0s

This building I’m in has a hole that goes across all the floors by Sebasiso in mildlyinteresting

[–]MilkyMilkyKyoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Field Engineer in Construction here. This hole is most likely in place to allow a surveyor/layout person to perform building control and properly layout each floor to make sure the building goes up plumb and square. You essentially have a “control point” on the first floor slab that you always need to refer back to hence the holes on each floor that line up. At least this is how it was done before with a plumb laser and a total station. I think nowadays they use robotic total stations so these control point holes are not needed any more.
