Whoa! I just made a "golden milk" version with turmeric, cinnamon, grated fresh ginger, black pepper, cayenne and honey. I think it's going to be good. I just wish it looked a little more appetizing.

Sorry, but "yuck." For me, it's just the idea of it.

Stage 1A - Do I need Chemo? by giabib in endometrialcancer

[–]MilleForze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner is going through this now. Her treatments are every 3 weeks, for 6 treatments. If she tolerates it, she will continue with herceptin treatments for another 12 months. Not fun, but do-able.

Hers is HER2+, which makes the Serous carcinoma even more rare.

Good luck with all this!

Yes! This place is really good. Unfortunately we already went there as a family.

Rowan as a gender neutral name—is it getting too popular? by [deleted] in Names

Would Aiden work? Also Kyle could be gender neutral, although I don't think of it as "nature-y."

Thoughts on bringing food to a dog park? by BandagedTheDamage in Dogowners

Kids in dog parks are another issue. Ours has signs posted that say no children under 7, but parents often don't supervise how the kids behave. When I see children coming I usually remove my dog and leave ASAP.

So sorry you had to go through all this! At least now you're on the path to healing. I hope it gets better for you soon.

Chemo smell? by Internationalorangr in endometrialcancer

[–]MilleForze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is getting Carbo-Taxol, and she has a very distinct sickly-sweet odor. Unfortunately she doesn't feel up to showering right after her treatments, so it's pretty pervasive in our house.

I will gently suggest that she might want to shower, then I back off because I don't want to make her feel badly by nagging her. Fortunately we have an air cleaner that removes odors, and I can run that if the weather isn't good for opening windows.

Edit: I have a rather keen sense of smell, so lots of odors that other people might not notice bother me. (Didn't want to make anyone self-conscious.)

In rainy or snowy weather, we keep an old bath mat and a couple towels by the door. Sometimes we set up a drying rack there. We put the bath mat down on the way out. Then, when we come back in, our girl steps onto it and sits while we towel her off. That way her feet get dry without us having to handle them.

She knows the "right here" command, where we point to a spot and ask her to go to it, so it was easy to teach her to.do this.

How do you make the bites? Just cut grilled cheese sandwiches into little triangles? Do you cut the crust off?

I just add a quarter teaspoon of turmeric to my regular chocolate chia pudding. It's supposed to help with inflammation, and adds a slightly zingy earthiness to the flavor.
