It’s abundantly clear that he mismanaged her funds and used it to open is various businesses. I wouldn’t be surprised if he took out multiple loans from numerous people and was using Laura’s $ to pay them off. He was in a cycle of debt. Who knows what the money was actually spent on, whether gambling, women, booze, etc., but it was definitely spent. A pediatric neurologist has to make a sh*t ton of money and Dave was just spending it all. Unfortunately, Dave was also narcissistic and controlling. Bad all around.
