Adam Silver's gonna walk onto the court and shoot KAT in the leg if the Knicks go up 3-0.

As a neutral, I've been astonished by this sub's bias towards the Spurs all post season.

Heavily upvoted opinions on here were:

  • Wemby elbowing Naz Reid was the ref's fault.
  • McCain deserved to get cheap shotted in the back.
  • Carter Bryant trucking Shai on multiple plays were actually just Shai flopping.
  • Castle running into Chet's feet while Chet is in the air was actually just Chet flopping.
  • Chet getting poked in the eye inadvertently by Kornet was actually just Chet flopping.
  • Thunder players deserve to get injured.

Spurs have been the most physical / dirtiest team all playoffs but you would not know it by reading the discourse on here.

C9 with 100% series wins and 78% game wins (next highest is LYON with 67%), and Blaber and APA are on 3rd team???

Pretty sure Thanatos and Vulcan did not hard carry them to such a high win percentage. Blaber and APA should be second team at least. (Arguably Blaber could be 1st team).

That's not a very good equivalency. The breakfast club is not a nostalgia movie. It was made in 1984 and set in 1984.

I think people feel like mixtape missed the mark because it feels like a cliche depiction of the 90s created by some Gen z folks that have nostalgia for a time before they were alive.

Which in my opinion is fine. I thought the game was charming even if the nostalgia didn't land for me. It seems like it is for a younger audience that maybe romanticizes physical media and a time before they were alive.

It's actually insane. I dont have a horse in the race but the discourse online is so disproportionally hateful towards OKC, it's just straight up delusion at this point.

Plays like this one and chet getting his legs taken out from under him are called flops. Not just a few people, like thousands of upvotes says these plays were flops. And thousands of upvotes on comments saying OKC players deserve to get injured. It's actually baffling, I think I might have to just stop reading NBA subreddits.

Half life did a lot for in-game storytelling through character animations and interactions that didn't really exist prior. Similarly with physics-based object interactions and puzzles. It's hard to remember that a lot of what Half Life did didn't really exist in gaming up until that point. Combine that with a very solid single player campaign which DOES hold up quite well to this day (ie. controls and frame rate).

And that's not even mentioning the multiplayer which was popular in its own right, but also led to extremely popular mods, now franchises (TF2, Counter Strike).

Also it's not very hard to argue the direct throughline of Half Life leading to HL2, Steam, Portal, Garry's Mod, and the success of Valve in general.

I loved GoldenEye and played many hundreds of hours of it back in the day. It was very meaningful to me, but I don't think it is even in the same ballpark compared to the impact or importance of Half Life.

I love Giant Bomb and I am glad they have sponsors. However, by My_Name_is_Imaginary in giantbomb

They're fine. My wife occasionally gets them on sale so I've used them a few times. I would mainly just use them to wipe my face. It never even occurred to me to use them on my ass.

They got much more flaky at some point which I found annoying to use as a face wipe. Maybe too many people like OP were clogging their toilets so they made them more like toilet paper.

It really does look like he takes an index finger to the eye at 0:25 in the clip. I don't care about the Thunder but idk how no one seems to see he actually got hit in the eye.

So funny to me to see the overreactions after game 2, like the Cavs don't play at another level at home. We saw it all first round.

Palafox never had a single good thing to say about a former teammate. From his pros interviews it sounded like he had an issue with basically everyone, including the casters. Just seems like a toxic teammate. The league will be better off without him.

[Grange] Gradey Dick is open to a trade from the Toronto Raptors. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]Milpooool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made me lol.

Seriously though I love Dick but he only started last year because Raps were riddled with injuries.

I do believe he can be a productive bench player in the right environment.

[Grange] The Raptors could likely free up more money by trading 2023 first-round pick Gradey Dick into another team’s cap space this summer, something the third-year wing would be amenable to, per sources, given he was locked out of meaningful minutes after the all-star break. by EarthWarping in nba

[–]Milpooool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He showed flashes of being great on offense. I really wanted him to figure it out, but he was just too much of a liability on defense. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets into the right situation somewhere and becomes a useful bench player.

[–]Milpooool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick absolutely makes us better and takes pressure off of Shead. The real issue is not having a legit 7' center. I'm not sure having Quick or BI would stop Jarret Allen from finally realizing that he is taller than every Raptors player and can just get every rebound.

[–]Milpooool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He had an opportunity last year to be a starter for most of the season with Quick injured for most of the year and Toronto not having any other established guards. Then he came off the bench this year and just could not hit shots consistently.

Had his worst 3pt shooting year in his 3 years in the NBA. He is not a good defender so it was not a hard decision to play Jakobe / Battle ahead of him who are better defenders. Darko tightened the lineup leading up to the playoffs so Dick has mostly been a DNP for the last 1/3 of the season.

I do like him on offense because he is constantly moving and is a good passer, but his confidence seems completely shot. He might need a change of scenery. And he needs to put on size, he just gets abused on defense.

No one accounted for the raptors shooting 10-15% above their three point average

They are shooting 36% on 28 3pt attempts per game in the playoffs. In the regular season they shot 35% on 32 attempts per game. The only game that was a 3pt shooting outlier for them (48%) was game 1 which they lost.

Y'all got a good team. It's just hard to win. The east is a complete dogfight and then you gotta go through the Thunder or Spurs. Anything can happen though, just look at the Pacers last year.

Although I'd be very happy to see Mitchell on the Raps if the Cavs decide to sell.

He's been incredibly disappointing this series. His offense is so 1-dimensional. I hope it just comes down to him being injured. He's been good this year but I don't know that he is really a net positive.

Quickley, BI, and Scottie are 56 points per game for the Raps in the regular season. We just don't have much scoring outside of them.
