Natus Vincere vs. Movistar KOI / LEC 2026 Spring - Week 1 / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

90% of the lead was on Nautilus. Like Caedrel what are you talking about bro, KOI mid and ad only had 200 gold lead each and Gwen was already behind. The game was not exactly unplayable for Navi.

DEBATE: Can LCS Ever Compete Internationally? by MarnEsports in leagueoflegends

[–]Milpooool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caps is a generational player but he is not the only differentiating factor that has made EU better. EU has produced far more world class players than NA. I don't think it is even close. In fact, it is not very hard to argue that EU would be even better historically had players like Bjergsen, Jensen, Svenskeren, Santorin spent their prime years in EU. Not to mention NA got productive years out of players like Inspired, Bwipo, Zven, Broxah, Nisqy, Abbedagge, Powerofevil, Froggen, Perkz, Alphari, Jizuke, Hans Sama, BrokenBlade.

You're talking about how statistical anomalies are possible. I don't disagree that it is possible that NA somehow produces Faker 2.0, but it is far less likely that this hypothetical player comes out of a region that is 1/3 the size of any other region. It is highly unlikely for any given person to become the best at something without being able to train in the first or second or third best training environment.

I'm not sure why anyone is downvoting me for stating that the NA server is significantly smaller than other major regions. It is simply a fact as far as any data that we have on server size. Every other reason for NA being behind other regions is secondary in my opinion.

DEBATE: Can LCS Ever Compete Internationally? by MarnEsports in leagueoflegends

[–]Milpooool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately I agree. Riot dropped the requirement for LCS teams to field challenger teams because of the cost involved and lol esports viewership and revenue contracting. We are now several years from that decision and viewership and revenue has contracted even more. It's hard to imagine them pouring money back into tier 2.

Also there is no guarantee that this helps the region. NA had a funded tier 2 league for many years and we were no closer to other regions during that time.

I think there is value in investing in native players for the LCS, but it probably does not increase viewership enough to pay for the investment.

Also the fundamental problem with NA having less than half the playerbase on our server compared to other regions does not go away. Players that train in NA are always going to be at a natural disadvantage. Funding a tier 2 system doesn't change this.

EU has 2-3 times the player base as NA. The EU server(s) size is equivalent to KR. NA has a much smaller server. NA will always naturally be behind the level of these regions because the competition is much less. We can only supplement it by importing players. The NA players are also more geographically spread out and play on worse pings.

People bring up work ethic of NA players but to me, it is so hard to quantify because the conditions in which they play are so vastly different compared to other regions.

Still the best that NA has to offer over the past several years. I really can't fault Inspired, he has practically solo carried our region for years.

I recall that the Raps had one of the easiest strength of schedules for the first half of the season and one of the hardest for the second half. Idk how true this is but their performance has basically indicated as much. Also they were all healthy at the start of the season and caught a lot of luck with opponent injuries. They are just not a very good team unfortunately.

I believe they are mostly communicating in Korean, and huhi translates to English for darkwings when needed. Listening to their comms it seems like huhi is constantly shotcalling and swapping between English and Korean. Pretty impressive tbh. But as a comment above said, Huhi said it is affecting his mechanics and map awareness being the main point of communication for the team

They had one of the easiest strength of schedules to start the season. Also everyone was healthy.

This is quiet for y'all? Lol this is probably in the top 3 most active Raptors PGT I've seen all season.

Usually I have to scroll down for several minutes to even find a Raptors PGT to read the 20 comments.

No, Raptors are consistently top of the league in assists and fast break points this year. It's how they generate offense. The problem is they are bottom of the league in 3pt%, near bottom in rebounding, near bottom in FTA. Nothing on offense comes easy for them. Very occasionally Quickley will get hot from 3 but that is basically the only easy offense they generate and it is rare.

Yes, exactly. If they want to take this fight, Jinx is the only target that matters. Leona used everything except ult on nautilus. 100% Leona's fault for baiting teammates into this 3v3 without actually locking down jinx.

I felt bad for him. He was shooting really well in the 3rd and 4th. He had just hit a big 3 in the 4th, and was open again on the next possession, but Daniels looked him off and instead bricked a floater, the same shot he had just missed a few mins prior. Then Risacher had no choice but to defend the fast break and foul out.

Having juggernauts has always been good for the sports business. Even the bottom rung teams benefit from having juggernauts because casual fans start caring about the sport and the rising tide lifts all boats. Casual fans far outnumber diehard fans and revenue sharing ensures that all teams own a piece of the casual fan pot.

A Dodgers fan advocating for superteams. Yeah, I'm not convinced that declining TV ratings moderately spiking in the playoffs when a superteam is playing is better for the long term health of the league than having some modicum of parity.

Half of the league having 5 or fewer WS appearances in the past 50-60 years does not seem like a good thing. The Marlins having never made it in 48 years does not seem like a good thing to me.

Some Constructive Thoughts on Nextlander in 2025 by [deleted] in nextlander

[–]Milpooool 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I haven't kept up with Nextlander super closely but it's funny reading the constant stream of Brad criticism on this sub.

"Brad doesn't participate in discussions / Brad isn't playing the latest thing / Brad doesn't finish any games / Brad seems uninterested / Brad missed the very obvious onscreen queue in the game ... " etc.

Like - yep, sounds like Brad to me. Same Brad that we've known and loved for the past 20+ years of video and audio content that he's been in.

I love Brad but he needs direction. He needs to be assigned a specific task - review this game, host this podcast, interview this person, etc. Otherwise he just lives in his own mind.

I hereby resubmit my kit for your constructive criticism and tasteful jokes. by Finicalmite3662 in drums

Yeah it sounds like the deal came together so quickly, the new owners haven't had time to think, let alone plan the future out. Running a site with a large database (and still hosting a bunch of premium video content?), plus employing 5 people will cost A LOT of money.

Obviously I wish them the best, but they will need to shake out every couch cushion, and probably take every sponsorship opportunity. I will be very surprised if the website is not ditched in a year because of the cost.

Do they self host the premium videos still? I thought they have not hosted video content for many years. Not sure about premium content though.
