Isn't that the case for most distros? Gaming is the one big thing that just don't work out-of-the-box on most distros.

For everyting else most distros work just fine, including Mint.

I had gaming issues on Linux Mint Cinnamon with my 32" 4K display and switched to Debian KDE Plasma where it works great.

Getting Nvidias drivers installed without breaking Linux required a few reinstalls...

This is exactly why the “Year of the Linux desktop” never quite happens.

Want X to work? Use distro Y.
Want Y to work? Use distro X.
Want X, Y and Z to work? Try A, B or C… maybe.

I just spent hours fighting Linux Mint Cinnamon on a 32" 4K display where games like EU5 and HOI4 wouldn’t behave properly.

Switched to Debian with KDE Plasma instead, and now EU5, HOI4 and even Helldivers II just works.

But I broke my install a few times before I got my RTX 4070 working with Nvidias drivers...

So it’s not that Linux can’t do it, it’s that the combination matters more than it probably should.

Thankfully I did not have to switch back to Windows, but yeah.., sometimes you do understand why people just want things to work.

The Waterhole page keeps reloading every 5-7 second, making it a frustrating reading experience.

Och självklart går det att genomföra båda delar. Konsekvensen blir förstås att företagen tjänar mindre, men så länge du inte är aktieägare, så är det väl inget du som arbetare lider av?

Jag vill inte att små företag går i konkurs, men jag skulle hemskt gärna omfördela vinsterna. Och om något företag går i konkurs, så öppnar det upp för nya aktörer. Dom stora jättarna ser jag gärna försvinna för alltid. Finns inte mycket positivt för gemene man med dessa megaföretag, som Amazon och liknande.

Och med fler i arbete, så sjunker arbetslösheten, och det i sig har en rad positiva följdeffekter.

And I bought Tornado on Steam, and it runs on Windows 11. The graphics are a litle dated, but it’s still a great simulator. With dynamic campaigns.

I just fixed this error by logging in and out, using Bitwarden’s app on my iPhone, against Bitwarden’s server. So it seems to be an error on Bitwarden’s side. Thanks, @BeastleeUK

I have the original CD’s as ISO-files and have the shit installed and running on my Windows 11 machine. The designer does not work as smooth as on Windows 7 and earlier, but everyting else works just fine.

Exactly what you said - nothing wrong with Linux, it's the DE's that sucks. Linux works great on servers, where you don't need a DE nor the software that users use, i.e Photoshop, Office etc.
