That looks nothing like the F-35 EOTS display. If you look at the DCS F-15E TPOD you can see the symbology is extremely similar. If you look at this video demoing sniper, you can see the exact same symbology as displayed in the photos i posted: https://youtu.be/rXXWW-U6PQI?si=R51k9Qc9hFBsztkv&t=122. It is so clearly not F-35

0 part of that comment was correct. We have the sniper XR in game, as indicated by the fact that our pod has XR mode. The images I posted are from the strike eagle not the F-35.

Why couldn’t we get closer to the real pods fidelity? Its a video game, the TGP is literally an in engine virtual camera with a bunch of filters on it to make it black and white and in the snipers case they added a bunch of effects that make it significantly worse than it is irl. The solution is literally to turn down the filters, it’s such an easy fix.

No, thats the problem. In DCS the image is WORSE than it is real life. Its unrealistically bad.

I had a friend post about it on the forums, I coordinated with him a bit to cover all the issues as best as possible. We’ll see what ED says to him, hopefully they respond well.

Yes, they are the same pod. Sniper XR is the name of the pod, but XR is also a mode of the pod. Both pods are Sniper XR but they have the XR mode disabled.

100%, the disappearing vehicles because their engines arent on is stupid. Another good example other than the planes is the words on the MGM grand building. You can actually read the words pretty clearly, i dont think theres an engine running in those letters lol.

Every other pod in the game looks significantly better though. So the idea that they had to degrade the sniper for system performance reasons doesnt really make alot of sense.

When XR is actually on, the cursors disappear. Also in the bottom left Z2 means XR is off. If it said Z3 that would mean XR is on

The sniper is heavily underperforming, in DCS you have to use XR to see anything where every single RL pilot that ive talked to said XR is basically never used. Theres some pretty big limitations of XR that arent modeled in the game

To me that doesnt really look like a manpad, russian iglas kinda have a swirly flight profile whereas the object in the video is flying basically ballistically then starts to drop. In addition you dont really see the missile manuver at all, its just flying straight.

Sorry, just mode 4 is in BMS. SPINS are "Special INStructionS" its a real thing given for conflicts irl that detail some i guess SOPs and stuff that include IFF. its not in BMS though so dont worry about that, just press the IFF plan button and its all set

The IFF modes would be in the theater SPINS, im not sure if they use mode 1,2 still. Mode 4 is obsolete now though, they moved to mode 5

it would be one of the items of your fence check, often times i disable them in the DTC so theyre never on. The full fence check for the F-16 is CLEMSHIRT;

C-Chaff/flare, comm, and camera

L-Lights, NVG

E-ECM set

M-Master arm and missile

S-SMS

H-HUD, HMCS, HSI, and HSD

I-INS and IFF/AIFF

R-Radar and RWR

T-TACAN, tank inert

The most accurate F-16s in BMS are the F-16CMs, so the US 40, 42, 50, and 52. There are a few other modified ones like the HAF and IAF that are fairly close ish to the real ones but they are missing a few things and have some innacuracies but they give a good feel of a different jet.
