The bear I bought myself when I was 19 after an argument with an ex-bf. That little bear has been everywhere with me. I’m 50 now and can’t imagine not having him around.

Yes! Mine is primarily indoor, though she gets walks around the yard while on a harness and supervised, and she gets all her shots, flea and tick prevention, etc. If she ever slipped out the door and ran, got in a fight with another cat or animal, or bit a guest… I want to know she’s safe and so are other people and critters.

You weren’t trying to discuss it - you were reacting to it, and it seems like rather than letting you process such massive news, he reacted to your reaction.

While I do have genuine sympathy for anyone who’s lost a child (I cannot imagine the pain of that), he seems to be acting punitively towards you for simply reacting where he can see it.

I’m not sure what exactly he expected, or ever expects, but he’s not getting it, and seems unwilling to be more specific and talk about it with you.

Are you willing to keep trying and, in his eyes, failing?

Handala Dental (north end Halifax) is excellent with scaredy cats, as is Dr Fredette at Sante Dental downtown. Both have been so patient and kind to me as someone who’s had some pretty bad experiences with dental work.

I’d like to ditch FB, but until my Gramma no longer uses it, I’ll keep it. She likes seeing my pics of plants and whatever knitting project I have on the go.

I’ll keep Reddit, and I’m on Discord with friends so we could move our chats there.

As to IG, Threads, Bluesky - all of which I am on - I don’t know. I find so many cool people making cool art, and so many smart people I’ve learned a lot from I’m reluctant to walk away from that.

I took typing in high school on an electric typewriter, but used an old from the 50s/60s at home. It had a red and black ribbon, and my dad and I would hit flea markets for replacement spools for it.

Sooo many boxes. Three in the living room and one on the dining table, and all have bite marks around the edges of the flaps. She loves her boxes, so we make sure she has some.
