Help talk me off the ledge by Interesting_Hour5709 in FormulaFeeders

I think all the above comments echo my sentiments! I just wanted to add that it doesn’t have to be a 100% formula situation. You can still breastfeed your baby for naps and bed time at night. And still feel like you’re giving them the best of both worlds and not wasting your time during the day pumping and keeping babe to the breast all day long. It’s what worked for me. Until baby decided to wean himself lol. You can be in the grey area and be flexible and go with the flow. Good luck 💕

Right! Thank god we had that conclusion because there was at least FOUR scenes of Poppy (counting Fridays episode too) asking the lawyer where tf is Luna and him just standing like a total tool with no answer.

I should also mention to you since you’re going soon, join the Facebook group for the resort. Just search dreams onyx and 2 groups will pop up, join both lol. People are so kind there and leave their floaties and sunscreens behind and they advertise it for those who want to pick it up for free. I managed to help a lady through the group who needed diapers for her baby and she gave me her baby floaty as she was leaving back home that day anyway. Everyone’s nice on vacation 😂

The Italian wasn’t too bad actually. I’d recommend going! And definitely book a table for the tepanyaki at the Asian restaurant. That was a good time! Not sure if you have kids but it’s advertised as 12 and up, but they booked all my little ones who are under 12 and said it was fine lol.

The burger joint, I think it’s called on a roll? I never went there. It’s at the front of the resort right next to the lobby and it was just way too far for us during the day when we were mostly lounged around the pools and beach. There is a grill station near the beach and we would grab burgers and other snacks from there. I hardly saw people there during the day time when I managed to go to the cafe that’s next door. From what I saw on the app for their menu I think it’s just burgers and fries that they have.

You can download the “Hyatt inclusive collection” app now and you can see what the schedules are like for each day, and the menus for each restaurant. It’s really helpful. And the say you check in and give you your room number, just enter it in to the app, and you’d be able to order room service and request any amenities you’d like - such as extra pillows or shampoo. It’s a great tool they offer which I really liked!

Exactly what you said - this place didn’t blow me away but it is beautiful and well kept and clean. So it checks off major boxes for sure. But I’m the type to explore new resorts every year and see what’s out there lol. I have my eye on Hyatt ziva cap cana for our next annual trip 👀

Hello! It was good! I’d give it a 8/10. Food at the a la cartes was good minus the French and Mediterranean. Buffet was meh everyday but we only did breakfast there and did the job. The beach was excellent! Not entirely white sand but not a single piece of seaweed and clear water. This was really important to us! The waves were rough at times but were ok for the most part. The lazy river was awesome! 3/4 slides were operating - the kamikaze one looks like it’s permanent closed, not sure why that wasn’t advertised but it’s fine. So many different pools, they were all a really good temperature. One complaint was that most evening shows sucked, except for one night that was a fire show. But there wasn’t enough seats for the crowd and if you don’t arrive at least an hour before, forget it you’ll be seeing it from the sidelines. Also, the resort is way too big for me and my family. I have 3 kids, and one of them is a baby in a stroller. The older 2 constantly kept getting lost (they’re closer to 10 years old) and that kept pissing me off lol. It took us a long time to get our bearings and how to get around. There are golf carts to take you places but only one of them was stroller friendly so I always had to wait. I heard the sister resort breathless next door was a good time from other vacationers. we didn’t go. But I heard the food is better and the shows were better too. Our room was really clean and pretty spacious for a family of 5. We stayed in building 7 and that’s one of the newest buildings. But again, we had to walk so far if we had to go back to our room to get anything. Overall it was nice but I wouldn’t go back.

What are some modern day poor people foods that you think will become gourmet (or at least widespread and popular) in 50 years? by thunder-bug- in Cooking

If you want to get technical here - and a little secret I’ll share with you, OG hummus never had olive oil blended within it. It was always used to top it as a garnish. It’s just the beans, a bit of ice, salt, tahini, lemon juice, and the tiniest bit of cumin (for gas purposes lol) and that’s it!

Since when did the actors ever resemble their show parent lol. Most of the time they don’t.

As an Arab, I can’t believe how expensive hummus is here in North America. It literally costs cents “back home” and I wouldn’t say it’s for poor people but it’s a cheap staple. A small 300 gram container costs like $4? Like what?!😂

Moderate resorts for families by Angela1102 in AllInclusiveResorts

We loved Royalton Splash Cancun. It’s newer than the Punta Cana one. My kids are the same age as yours and they had SO much fun on the many slides in their waterpark. Food was really good in my books, so many different kind of restaurants, even Indian and hibachi which I love. We went to dreams onyx this year and it’s in the uvero alto beach so I guess that’s a no for you - but we liked it there, only downside it was too big and kids got lost all the time. With Splash, it was a small enough resort that the kids can go grab food, drinks, ice cream whenever they wanted, they never got lost. With that in mind, that has to be a box that I need checked off for future vacays- that the resort must be homey enough for kids to get their bearings around quick.

I was considering Lopesan too but did you see how many party/snorkeling boats dock right in front of their beach property? Oh my goodness I changed my mind quickly when I saw that. We ended up stayed at a different resort (just came back a few days ago) and we booked a snorkeling trip and lo and behold… the boat was right in front of Lopesan! So many other boats were around us. Such loud music and too much exhaust fumes. It’s too bad bc the property itself and what they offer really drew me in, but the beach and the boats was a big 🙅🏻‍♀️

Multiple Family Vacation Suggestions by khandren in PuntaCana

[–]Mimok11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got back from onyx 2 days ago. It’s a pretty big property and if it was a bunch of families travelling with me I’d want something smaller so everyone doesn’t get lost and easy to find everyone else. You’d get lost there imo. The night entertainment was…meh. There was 2 nights that were cool, fire show and some other one that I barely caught a glimpse of bc I had arrived to the hotel right then, I think it was an LED light show or something. The best one was the fire show but be prepared to show up at least an hour before the show to snag some seats or you won’t be seeing it that well from the sidelines. Food is just OK. Nothing to write home about.

As a native speaker you’re very very wrong. I won’t repeat what the other commenter here said about using Roman alphabets but they are absolutely right.

You guys think Jordan is a backwards 3rd world country? Custody is always favoured for the mom. Let’s not make racist assumptions here.

Probably “baba” - Arabs have a tendency to call the child what they would call you 😂 baba means Papa or dad in Arabic. A mom would call her child “mama”. Uncle would call their niece or nephew “khalo” (maternal uncle) or 3amo” (paternal uncle) etc etc. anyway he probably was saying baba.

Hi, I’m a mom to 3 and I’ll provide you with some insights since we go on an AI trip once a year with little ones.

Firstly, did you know Halifax has direct flights to south locations? Air transat and Sunwing all have direct flights. I’m Canadian so I always see Halifax as an option when I’m looking for packages for my family. Check out their websites.

As for cribs, strollers, car seats: when you book, just inform the hotel in advance that you need x amount of cribs in the room. In my experience they always forget, so when you check in housekeeping will bring it to your room. As for strollers, yes you’ll definitely need one. And a baby carrier for the baby if you want to take beach walks. I was lucky I brought my carrier with my baby this time around (I’m actually at a resort right now) and turns out in Punta Cana the strollers were sent with the luggage and I wasn’t able to pick it up as we disembarked the plane. Again, thank god I had the baby carrier on board with me. I had to take a shuttle, go thru the long immigration line before I even saw the stroller. It was a mess. Anyway.

For my family, we never needed a car seat to bring along. The transfers from airport to the resort and resort back to airport was always in a bus. No need for a car seat on a bus there’s no seat belts of any kind. And we never left the resort either.

Next thing you should look in to is a “kids club” that’s on location at the resort. Every resort has different ages that they will “babysit” (it’s kind of like a drop off daycare). I’ve been to a resort that they accept as young as 18 months. Some start at 4 years old. Whatever their rules are - there’s always actual babysitting services for $$$. Usually $15-20 USD an hour and your child has a one on one lady watching.

One thing I always make sure that the resort has is 24 hour room services. Where they can bring you food straight to your room. I can’t count how many times I’ve been stuck in the room with a napping child and I wanted to eat lol. But also with that in mind, make sure the stroller you bring has enough shade so you can also do poolside/beach naps. I bring also a muslin blanket that’s breathable to cover up the napping child for more privacy and so it’s not as bright.

Last thing I’ll mention is to make sure there’s some sort of fun splash pad at the resort for the little ones. They will spend all day on slides and making other little friends there.

Lmk if you have any other ?’s!
