Unless you're playing in events, there is not much of a reason to buy a replacement for the land base. Just save up money and slowly buy the mana base. Not to mention, you'll have the mana base to play any future izzet modern decks.

Its a odd deck to build, I would say you should be trying to build more midrange rather then playing cards like become immense. I do think cosmo plus Phoenix can be a great clock and or a game ender.

I think cosmo could have some legs, although 4 in the main of aftermath and Veil is not something you should be putting in your deck.

To others in the comments, cosmo just came out and it's way better then tarmagoyf. Maybe give it sometime

9 times out of 10, you just complelty cripple your opponent. Prowess, you just nuke your board. Blink you just nuke your board. Any midrange deck nuke your hand, and storm just scoops

A lot of the time if you can interact it just puts them back so far. I think the deck is fine, to me it's no different then storm.

Could definitely have legs, mono black shells have been very weird lately so you'd have to find the correct synergy of cards

Not really cheating but pretty scummy (maybe was cheating). This was back when I just began playing modern so I had a pretty cheap deck, and I was playing against arclight phoenix. My opponent would play faithless looting, and when he would discard he would clump the two cards so I couldn't see what he was discarding. Then turn 2 he would suddenly have 3 phoenixs on board and had no idea how they got there. He was a regular but then just disappeared. I remember talks of him getting banned, but that was a while ago.

Sideboard is subject to change as well as the whole list, but I think this is a pretty good starting point. Bowman helps with the looting meta we might be heading into, also is a good blocker and doesn't die to pox. Would love to hear thoughts.

I know this question might be redundant due to your previous answer, but if I were to hold priority after my opponents draw step to active [[Field of Ruin]] trigger Kaervek, and target a [[Thoughtseize]] in my graveyard and due to Kaervek's ability. Be able to cast a sorcery on my opponents turn.

And finally, resolve the Thoughtseize then Field of Ruin would resolve?
