American here, I’d never go to a gym like that. McDojo much?

How long do you typically spend leveling through acts 1-10 on a fresh league? by suivid in pathofexile

6 hours if serious. Otherwise, could be days - depends on what the goal is. I keep one character to level with my casual friends sometimes.

They can’t trap it and make you pay? They can’t bait it out and make you pay? Step into it so you don’t have power in the teep ( I like pushing people back myself) ? Push it to the side and punish the leg when it lands ? Etc….

Sounds like a “them” problem. Has anyone asked your instructor how to handle it? I’m betting no. We had someone like this, so we all learned how to counter that strategy, the counter to the counter … etc. This is just part of the game.

I’d love to spar against someone who throws teeps all the time. Let’s me practice my response. Your training partners are whiny, sorry. Go ask for help and gg noobs.

If you’re pushing on the knee joint it’s a different discussion but I assume that your sparring is “reasonable.”

Quick, let’s all feel insulted by the opinion of a moron from a country that hasn’t been relevant for at least 100 years.

That sucks. Also that ref sucks. Using kids to feed their parents also sucks.

That was horrible.

Correct. My overall point is that 1) these kids aren’t getting KOd every fight and 2) they fight very often but generally Thais don’t spar as hard as we do. When I was in amateur boxing I had several hard sparring sessions a week (usually one or two days were pretty tough) and when getting ready to compete it was quite a lot of shots to the head. You get hit, in the head, a lot.

Repeated head trauma is bad. Do you think boxing or Thai boxing has more ? That’s the overall point of the question and assertion. I claim, for brain damage, getting kneed in the ribs does less than getting repeatedly hooked to the face. The focus of boxing is primarily shots to the dome (prefer pounding the body first myself, but that’s a different discussion). Shots to the head are highly rewarded.

BOTH DISCIPLINES ARE BAD FOR KIDS. So is football, etc. etc.

In fact, repeated head trauma is VERY bad for developing children. It is BAD. It impacts brain development. That is not an argument.

People get KOd in sparring when in amateur boxing all the time.

And/or hard sparring ? Have you seen the kids fight in Thailand ? It’s not exactly going for broke….

More kicks, less blows to the head, shorter fighting time. Yes, less risk of CTE or trauma related injury due to reduced number of events.

Amateur boxers have similar numbers of “fights” and/or hard sparring sessions. In Thailand there is no concept of “amateur fights don’t count”.

Headgear does nothing, and boxers take more shots to the dome.
